The Israel National News, reported yesterday a story that captures the very essence of evil and the soul of freedom’s enemies:

“Two activists have exposed a disturbing phenomenon that they say is an open secret within the “peace camp”: female “peace” activists are routinely harassed and raped by the Arabs of Judea and Samaria with whom they have come to identify. They say the phenomenon has gotten worse lately and that many foreign women end up as wives of local Arabs against their will, but cannot escape their new homes.”It turns out, she explains, that when female peace activists from Israel and abroad come out to Judea and Samaria and demonstrate against the Israeli “occupation,” they are assaulted sexually by the Arab men whom they have come to help.”

What follows in the report reveals just what the Left really is composed of:

“…rape occurred several months ago in the village of Umm Salmona, near Bethlehem. The victim, an American activist, wanted to press charges but leftist activists put pressure on her not to do so, so as not to damage the struggle against the ‘occupation.’”

The Left has regularly defended the vilest of acts by the Islamists, sure, but this is a new low. To conceal from the world that people from your own camp are getting raped to protect the rapists is an incomprehensible immorality.

“These are not just cases of rape carried out to satisfy lust,”  […]

“Usually, they are carried out systematically in order to make the girl pregnant and then take her as a wife – after she converts to Islam, of course. […] It is hard to escape from the Palestinian territories. Sometimes these women – some of whom are no longer young – are never allowed to leave their homes…”

The evil these people are capable of numbs the senses. In history, there have always been barbarians that initiate force that cause rivers of blood to flow. But to be the victim of these butchers, and to make it an aim to hide it for the purpose of not weakening them is an outrage that is unmatched in history.

If anyone thinks that leftists are “sincere but deluded idealists” take a look at this story. They’ve seen first hand just who they are defending. They’ve seen with their very own eyes the baseness and inhumanity of the Islamists and have been victims of it.

The Islamists who brutalize women are evil fiends who deserve to die. If the Islamists are evil, what then is the moral stature of those who knowingly defend this kind of evil, and try to conceal it to the world and then damns the people who try to fight it?

Islam isn’t in America to be equal to any other faith, but to become dominant.

The imam of the Ground Zero mosque has said much the same. Their idea is that U.S. must submit to Sharia Law. For example, that means U.S. laws against the rape of children would mean nothing because Sharia allows men to marry girls as young as nine.

That Muslims want Sharia here in the United States is no secret, but many still think it’s nothing more than a fringe nuisance. To underestimate the political zeal of radical Muslims to institute Sharia right here in the Land of the Free is foolishness, especially when so many of our own are in favor of it.

What would it really look like to see Sharia in the daily lives of American families?

Wonderful news for Civilization is coming, surprisingly enough, from France.  A sweeping victory for President Sarkozy’s efforts to ban the burqa was announced by the Times:

“Calling full face veils ‘a new form of enslavement,’ the lower house of the French parliament voted 335 to 1 to ban any garment which obstructs the face.”

“No one can, in the public space, wear clothing intended to hide the face.”

Last year, the President had the courage to say of the burqa:

“It is a sign of subservience, a sign of debasement. ”

Though he wasn’t quite ready to name the real culprit:

“It is not a religious symbol.”

Those opposing the ban say that outlawing the veil is contrary to the very values of freedom and liberty Sarkozy claims he is upholding.

The use of a full-faced burqa is not a question of the subjective, individual disposition of the women wearing the burqa, but of objective imposition of the burqa on women by the religion itself.  Islam covers women because their presence in the social space is considered an ontological threat to the purity of men, whose lust can only be kept in check by the elimination of women from man’s normal realm of existence.  When serving of men requires women to invade the space of man – buying his food, for example, she must limit the extent of her disturbance of male equilibrium by covering herself.

France has the duty to refuse such a social construct as fundamentally opposed to women’s right to live in and influence society as much as men.

It is wholly to be expected that fear of social, spiritual and physical punishment drives women to comply with the Islamic Hijab ordinance.  Women who embrace Islam may initially consider their compliance to be an  independent and personal choice, but government has the right to give priority to the general protection of  women’s freedom, over the right of individual women to enslave themselves.

Left-wing feminist author Jessica Valenti fired a shot in today’s Washington Post — actually, it was more like a large-bore, sawed-off shotgun blast.  Her target included the supposed miserable condition of women in the United States, their substandard employment opportunities and poor leadership representation - and American males.  Valenti is just really angry about all of it.  I got that.  The shot pattern pretty well shredded the target.

“Every day, we hear about the horrors women endure in other countries: rape in Darfur, genital mutilation in Egypt, sex trafficking in Eastern Europe…

…We have no problem condemning atrocities done to women abroad, yet too many of us in the United States ignore the oppression on our doorstep. We’re suffering under the mass delusion that women in America have achieved equality…

… But we’re basking in a “girl power” moment that doesn’t exist — it’s a mirage of equality that we’ve been duped into believing is the real thing… For all our “empowered” rhetoric, women in this country aren’t doing nearly as well as we’d like to think… After all, women are being shot dead in the streets here, too… In Iraq, women serving in the military are more likely to be raped by a fellow soldier than killed by enemy fire…This is a far cry from progress; it’s an epidemic of sexism…”

As a career cop, I made arrests and testified in many cases of domestic violence and rape and can say with confidence that Valenti’s emotion-based analysis tells me one thing – she has lost all perspective. Rape, genital mutilation and sex trafficking, as well as slavery, are institutionalized within Muslim States and commonly accepted in some other cultures.  Whereas, in the U.S. they are felonies.

Here are some examples of highly successful female authority figures from my life of 63 years:

My kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Beasley, was from the United Kingdom.  The school principal was Belle Lytle.  Our family physician and surgeon for many years was Mary Y. Murata.  The department chair when I taught at Pasadena High School was Carolyn Shannon.  Pasadena’s most famous and beloved school principal was Gladys Edwards.  Teaching in Longmont, Colorado, my vice principal was Thelma Bishop, who went on to become the assistant superintendent of schools.

As a Longmont Police Officer, I testified in Judge Marsha Yeager’s Courtroom.  Roxanne Bailin was also a Boulder County Judge.  In the Adams County, Colorado, Sheriff’s Office I worked as a deputy under Sergeants Sue DeBaca and Della Crump.  The lieutenant of detectives was Gail Lutter.  Penny Collins-Brown and Karm Sundae were both division chiefs.  Brown went on to become Undersheriff.

As a detective I had the pleasure of working with as many female prosecutors as males.  Deputy District Attorney Jill Straus became a district court judge.  And in my two years as an investigator with the Colorado State Public Defender’s Office, the number of female defense attorneys was close, if not equal, to the number of males.  Several of the heavy-hitter appellate attorneys in the Denver office were women.

If you ask me who I believe is the best authority on jihad as related to U.S. military affairs, it’s Diana West. And lastly, one of my NRB editors, Karen Northon, is a distinguished veteran of U.S. military.

I rest my case.  Put down that shotgun, lady.

Its constitutional sub-humanization of women aside, Islam has a raft of beliefs and practices that violate fundamental human rights of non-Muslims in general. A few cases should suffice to fully substantiate the contention that Islam is religious apartheid. And there is no need to draw cases from the repugnant “extremist” Islamic groups such as the Taliban to make the case. Even the most “mainstream” and “peaceful” Islam is guilty of systemic apartheid. Just a couple of examples should suffice for now.

• On December 16, 2006, Egypt’s Highest Administrative Court decreed that in order to receive an Identity Card, only Islam, Judaism, or Christianity must be entered on the application. No one of any other religion or no religion at all is permitted to list his belief or even leave it blank. Without the identity card, just about all the rights of citizenship are denied to minorities such as Baha’is, Hindus, and Buddhists. People are forced to choose between falsely claiming an approved religion and depriving themselves of just about all rights of citizenship such as jobs, education and medical care.

In the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Islamic law denies dyyeh to any and all people who are not Muslims or members of the only other three recognized religions. Every one of the 500,000 members of the Baha’i Faith can be murdered without the family receiving justice or compensation. As a matter of fact, the Islamic government itself has executed Baha’is for the sole “crime” of being Baha’is and has demanded that the innocently murdered person’s family reimburse it for the bullets they used to execute him.

The photos were taken by Emilio Morenatti of the Associated Press. The text is based on work done by Nicholas Kristof—one of the few people at the New York Times whose work I am proud to quote. What are we seeing?

The Arabization or the Saudi-ization of Muslims in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Pakistan is the hidden hand behind these acid attacks upon women. These poor girls and women have had their lives ruined; some have been forced to undergo surgery 20-30 times in order that they may see a little, or breathe a bit, hear something, perhaps in order to eat or make themselves understood. They look like…monsters. That was what their attackers wanted to accomplish. To render their faces into self-portraits of their attackers.

Why was acid thrown into their faces? The main reasons are because they dared to reject someone in marriage or because they wanted a divorce. The “jilted” suitors (or husbands) took their revenge in this fashion. If he can’t have her, no man will; I will make sure that no man will ever want her.” One young girl was gang-raped aftger which her rapists threw acid on her face. Another committed the “crime” of disappointing her father by being born female, not male. Many were disfigured as a result of a “family dispute.”
