For more than a decade Islamic immigrants have poured into welcoming parts of Western Europe.  Many of those open-armed nations have allowed and even promoted that Muslims be able to live the Islamic way without being truly merged into European society.  Some nations, most  notably the UK, have even allowed the spread of Sharia law in Muslim communities.

Well the times, they are a changing. Leaders of the UK, Germany, and France have all recently called for the end of full blown Islamic multiculturalism and a restored push for a national identity among all its citizens.

Yesterday, in France, President Nicolas Sarkozy shocked many in his own country when he declared that multiculturalism is dead in The French Republic.  Sarkozy made the surprising remarks on French television.

“Of course we must all respect differences, but we do not want… a society where communities coexist side by side…If you come to France, you accept to melt into a single community, which is the national community, and if you do not want to accept that, you cannot be welcome in France… We have been too concerned about the identity of the person who was arriving and not enough about the identity of the country that was receiving him.” – Sarkozy

While France had already rejected some of Germany and the UK’s multicultural practices (no Muslim veils in public or headscarves in schools), Sarkozy had been known as someone open to multiculturalism before becoming President in 2007.  Now, he has made it clear that Muslims who move to France must pursue “a French Islam and not just an Islam in France.”  Such words did not sit well with Islamic groups, but Sarkozy was merely echoing recent statements heard in England and Germany.

Last week, the UK’s British Prime Minister David Cameron told the annual Munich Security Conference that European nations have been too lenient on allowing anti-western view to spread unhindered in Islamic immigrant circles.

“We won’t defeat terrorism simply by the actions we take outside our borders. Europe needs to wake up to what is happening in our own countries…We have even tolerated these segregated communities behaving in ways that run counter to our values.  We have encouraged different cultures to live separate lives, apart from each other and the mainstream…We’ve been too cautious, frankly even fearful, to stand up to them.” – Cameron

The United Kingdom, in recent years, had opened their doors to all types of pro-Sharia initiatives.  Our friends across the pond have often been seen as a possible future for America when it comes to the spread of Sharia.  (For a recent example see this NRB blog).  The UK has a population of Muslims where Sharia is demanded and even 1 in 3 UK college Muslims think killing for Islam is okay.  It is clear now that the British Prime minister knows their policies have failed.

“If we are to defeat this threat, I believe it’s time to turn the page on the failed policies of the past.  Instead of ignoring this extremist ideology, we as governments and societies have got to confront it, in all its forms.” – Cameron

That speech was given in Germany and one of those applauding in the audience was German Chancellor Angela Merkel.  Merkel herself had only last October made similar comments about the dangers of multiculturalism mixed with Islamists.  She spoke in Potsdam, Germany where the crowd cheered her words of warning.

“(In) the beginning of the 1960s our country called the foreign workers to come to Germany and now they live in our country. We kidded ourselves a while. We said: ‘They won’t stay, [after some time] they will be gone,’ but this isn’t reality. And of course, the approach [to build] a multicultural [society] and to live side by side and to enjoy each other … has failed, utterly failed.” – Merkel

Merkel, who surprised few with her call for cultural integration, has now surprisingly become a model for Cameron and Sarkozy.  The three pillars of Western Europe are now all on the same page when it comes to understanding the dangers of mixing multiculturalism and Islamists.  But will America listen?

America has been pushing multiculturalism for over 30 years now.  And now that Sharia law is being promoted in the U.S., what will we do?  That question rocked the nation with last year’s battle over the World Trade Center mosque, but the country never gave a final answer.  Hopefully we will one day learn follow the example of our friends in Europe have now set.

On January 31, in response to a question about the Muslim Brotherhood‘s participation in the political process in Egypt, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said that “increase in democratic representation has to include a whole host of important non-secular actors…” He did not indicate whether that should include the Christian community. Since the Coptic Christians in Egypt, who have been experiencing massacre by Islamists, represent close to the same percentage of the population as the Muslim Brotherhood, shouldn’t President Obama seek to be as clear on the need for their involvement as he has been on involvement by the Muslim Brotherhood?

Why are the White House and the leftist media encouraging promotion of Muslim Brotherhood involvement but ignoring the Christian community and other minority religious groups persecuted by Islamists in Egypt?

While it is true that there are some Muslims in Egypt who sympathize with the Coptic Christians, and its also true that Christians are playing a role alongside Muslims in the protests against Mubarak, let us not fool ourselves. Christian involvement is urged on, due in large part to President Mubarak’s inability to provide security for them in Egypt, as they face massacre in the wake of a sharp rise in Islamist militancy; that is ignored by the world ‘s top Islamic scholars based (where else?) in Cairo.

On New Year’s Day it became crystal clear that Islamist militancy is a serious problem in Egypt when a Christian church filled with worshippers was bombed in Alexandria. Twenty-one Christians were killed. The pro-government media warned that the attack was part of a plot to incite civil war.

Protests by Christians and clashes with the police that erupted after Saturday’s attack could worsen and plunge Egypt into a new spiral of sectarian violence, the government and independent newspapers said. The papers also urged the government to give serious consideration to the plight of the Copts who account for up to 10 percent of Egypt’s 80-million population and often complain of discrimination. “Someone wants to make this country explode… We must realize that there is a plot aimed at triggering religious civil war,” the pro-government daily Rose al-Yussef said. Egyptians should foil attempts by “terrorists” to strike at the country, it said.

Will Arianna Huffington become a media mogul like Roger Ailes and turn the Huffington Post into the FOX of the Left? Under the $315 million acquisition agreement with AOL, Huffington will become president and editor-in-chief of The Huffington Post Media Group. She’s expected to oversee all of the editorial content.

Despite being a card-carrying member of the Left, Arianna Huffington insists America’s problems can’t be solved using “the old distinctions of right and left.”

There have been a handful of articles written about the new merger, but a comment in this article struck me as hysterical. In response to the charge that Huffington’s political views may be polarizing, technology consultant Rob Enderle says,

There’s certainly the opportunity to create a much more powerful liberal voice in the country. The fact that it hasn’t been done yet doesn’t mean it can’t be done.

Now that’s priceless. Really. Anyone who thinks the left in America hasn’t had the microphone for decades is either very young or very stupid. Clearly the rise of FOX News Channel and conservative talk radio has caused much confusion among Americans.

There are essentially two schools of thought about today’s media: that it has become more fair, or that it is now dominated by the right. It is not the latter.

While it is true FOX News, talk radio, and the Internet are immensely popular with the American public, who are a right of center bunch, these outlets have not replaced the power of the left-wing media. They have merely leveled the playing field.

Some argue that if we once had a liberal media bias in America, we now have a conservative bias. This is not accurate. Conservative bias is not the opposite of liberal bias. Liberal bias exists because the overwhelming majority of Americans in power – college professors, the mainstream media, and Hollywood – are leftists who believe their worldview is the good one, the right one, the only one to have.

Tariq Ramadan, grandson of Muslim Brotherhood founder Hasan Al-Banna and supporter of terrorism, is employing the use of his forked tongue in an article at the Huffington Post to make the case for participation of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt’s political process. Is this Arianna Huffington’s idea of passing on family values?

If so, may God help us.

Tariq Ramadan has a long history of practicing Stealth Jihad, as Robert Spencer and many others have demonstrated. In 2004, when Notre Dame University gave Ramadan a professorship, the Bush Administration revoked his visa based on the law that denies visas to those who use a “position of prominence within any country to endorse or espouse terrorist activity.”

One example is Ramadan’s endorsement of the Iranian regime in appearing on a program on Iranian state television. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has invited Ramadan to re-apply for a visa. For now, Ramadan remains based in Europe, but thanks to the internet, he can still promote the Muslim Brotherhood on the pages of the Huffington Post.

Apart from Ramadan‘s lies about the history and current makeup of the Muslim Brotherhood, particularly in regard to his grandfather’s support for Adolf Hitler’s Nazi Party, what strikes me the most is that he is a proponent of “pluralism”, having authored a book on the subject, and is making the case now for the Muslim Brotherhood to follow the “template” of Turkey.

In my article Top 5 Revolutions Backed by George Soros, I shared with you that Soros’ man in Turkey, Can Paker, is lobbying heavily for a new constitution in Turkey that is based on pluralism and democracy.

‘Pluralism,’ generally speaking, is the rejection of the idea that something can be (1) held as absolutely true and (2) legitimately adhered to, or valued. An example of something that is accepted as “absolutely true” in America’s Constitution is that human rights are ‘unalienable.’ The less a Constitution includes absolutes in regard to human dignity, property rights, due process, etc., the more the door is opened for communities, regions, or a whole country to adopt systems opposed to these values through pure democratic voting. One example of this would be Sharia Law.

There is something to be said for living in a pluralistic society in the right context. If we are referring to a pluralistic society as one in which people may legally hold, even in public, different views about things, without fear of reprisal, then this is something we can all support. However, if a country has a constitution without any absolutes (e.g., constitutional protections for property ownership, the right to life, the right to bear arms), and this is coupled with heavy emphasis on democracy, it can pave the way for that country to democratically vote for nationwide Sharia Law.

How simple it is, then, for stealth jihadists like Tariq Ramadan to “defend” pluralism and democracy, while sounding perfectly reasonable in their discourse, but at the same time be paving the way for the “Islamic State.”

Al-Banna’s objective was to found an ‘Islamic state,’ based on gradual reform, beginning with popular education and broad-based social programs.

So it is that Mr. Ramadan, the forked tongue of Islam, may make the case for the Muslim Brotherhood in the leftist media, with gullible progressive readers believing him to be a benevolent Martin Luther of Islam and champion of democracy, as the Islamic caliphate rolls onward.

She sat in the corner, on the floor with her head hidden between her knees. As she wept, her arms trembled over her head. Her 10-year-old daughter stood by with her baby sister riding on her hip, ready to translate her mother’s Spanish sobs.

The young mother just couldn’t believe what had just happened. The man that she was living with, the father of her youngest child, had just beat her in a parking lot, in front of God, passers-by and her own children.

She, along with her two little girls had been brought to my doorstep by a police officer called to the scene of the crime. “My doorstep” was a safe house for women suffering from domestic violence. It was my shift. The thought of her being here illegally never crossed my mind–but she was.

Her oldest daughter spoke English without a trace of an accent. She seemed like a 20 year-old packed in a tiny 10 year-old frame. Her silky dark hair was long, down to her waist, just like her mother’s. Her sadness and concern seemed to make her brown eyes so much bigger than they really were.

As a domestic violence shelter, our job was to keep women safe, help them to heal and grow strong enough to stand on their own so that they were not dependant on the men that was abusing them.

Tiffany Williams, a social worker, wrote a column over at The Huffington Post entitled “Silencing Human Trafficking Victims in America” that serves as a veritable blueprint of the web Leftists spin for victims.

Williams writes:

Thanks to a wave of anti-immigrant proposals in state legislatures across the nation, fear of deportation and family separation has forced many immigrant women to stay silent rather than report workplace abuse and exploitation to authorities.

When the American Psychological Association recently recommended overhauling our detention centers and social service networks to better protect children and maintain family units, it acknowledged the widespread psychological trauma caused by immigration enforcement — including everything from infant developmental delays to dismal academic performance.

“Widespread psychological trauma … including everything from infant developmental delays to dismal academic performance” could be said of children of prisoners, drug addicts and alcoholics– just about any unstable home environment. However, the cause cited here is “immigration enforcement.”

“Immigration enforcement” is a term used by the indigenous people living in the dream world of the Left, it’s derived from their native language of Political Correctness. In the real America, at least where English is still spoken, “Immigration enforcement” would actually mean we would enforce immigration.
