Election talk is in the air again as Canadian Liberal leader Michael Ignatieff goes on an 11 day cross country tour to 20 different ridings. This time he is courting the woman vote.
Michael Ignatieff’s Liberals believe female voters can help them defeat Stephen Harper and will fight the next election on a platform designed to show that only Liberals understand the anxiety Canadian families are feeling about the economy.
One of the most infuriating events in the last few years for conservatives is surprisingly not the election of Barack Obama. What burns conservatives most of all is the refusal of the journalistic community to do its job where Obama is involved. Historically, the American press tends to be hard on a sitting president and the American people expect it. This keeps everybody honest. Never have we witnessed the media so willing to forgo its purpose for the advancement of one man.
In 2009, President Obama declared that America is really “one of the largest Muslim countries in the world.” He also bowed low to Saudi King Abdullah and proudly defended America’s stand on behalf of a Muslim woman’s right to veil.
Well, that didn’t stop Iran.
Next, the Obama administration tried to force the Israelis—who want peace—to give up…more pieces of land in order to further appease the Arabs—who do not want peace with Israel.
That did not work either.
Now, two years later, it is 2011, and Secretary of State Clinton is touring the Middle East. She claims that America is also filled with Arab-style “extremists” (we are really all the same) and that family-oriented women can “press government and leaders to make decisions that will lead to a sustainable peace.”
What is Clinton smoking—and inhaling? I ask because she is suffering from extremely impaired judgment.
In the wake of this weekend’s shooting in Arizona, the opportunists of the Left barely waited for the bodies to cool or for confirmation of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords’ fate before pouncing on what simply had to be the atrocity’s root cause: Sarah Palin. Even though indications of culprit Jared Loughner’s true mindset started appearing on the very day of the shooting, agenda-driven vultures proceeded to lecture Palin on everything from what she needed to say to the proper level of remorse she needed to display. On Wednesday, the former governor responded, in a stirring statement that mourns for the victims, defies her persecutors, and affirms the strength of American democracy:
If you don’t like a person’s vision for the country, you’re free to debate that vision. If you don’t like their ideas, you’re free to propose better ideas. But, especially within hours of a tragedy unfolding, journalists and pundits should not manufacture a blood libel that serves only to incite the very hatred and violence they purport to condemn. That is reprehensible.
Apparently, I’m now in Amanda Marcotte’s crosshairs for “creating an environment that leads to violence” or something. Failing to pin the Arizona shooting on Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh, masculinity, misogyny or any other leftist pet scapegoat, Marcotte has turned her scope on me. No one is allowed to criticize leftists. If you do, you’re threatening them. Marcotte has called me a paranoid liar for pointing out her indefensible political positions. This is easily refutable. The following is a list of the “lies” I allegedly told about Marcotte and the irrefutable proof that my accusations are true.
