The world of leftist feminist extremists was rocked to its very core this week. Seven years after founding Feministing, Jessica Valenti (one of the most well-known femisogynists) announced that she was leaving the blog she created. Besides being busy with other projects, she’s 32 now, which is like, totally old, and Feministing is only for young femisogynists. And everyone knows that 32 is practically grandma territory. And while Valenti said she would still be involved in an advisory capacity, her departure caused much sadness and sorrow among lefty feminists in the blogosphere. Here at NewsReal, though, we thought: what better time than to honor Jessica Valenti’s femisogynist legacy at Feministing?

Conservatives: Time for mass exodus!

Here in the totally Democrat-run state of Illinois, a 66% income tax just hit our paychecks last week. As you can imagine, anyone with any sense has spent the last week discussing to which state we should flee. My friends and I have been fantasizing about a conservative commune where everyone showers, no one would starve (because we hunt) and there is no wife-swapping. It’s a fun exercise to think about. Several of us believe a solution to our partisan problems (before it descends into civil war) might just be to part ways with the American Left and set up traditional American government in the already conservative states. The first goal should be beefing up these already rational and taxpayer-friendly states with more like-minded citizens. Too many of us are separated and living in enemy territory, forced into an ideological closet from which we dare not exit for fear of public humiliation and shunning.

Living in a solid blue state, it is nearly impossible not to have been accosted at a cocktail party while trying to enjoy some shrimp by a (literally) foaming at the mouth leftist who accidentally found out you voted for Bush. And God forbid it should be discovered you once worked for Rush Limbaugh (like me). In that scenario, not one person would come to your defense if your accuser threw you through a plate glass window. I’m not a bumper sticker person (too hard to scrape off) but I’ve known a few brave souls who’ve had their cars scratched for advertising their conservative beliefs. There must be better places to live. I’ve come to the conclusion that now might be the time to start looking.  The following are the best and worst places in the country for conservatives, taking a number of factors into consideration from taxes to dating opportunities, political affiliation, weather, housing prices and more.

And we’re starting with…

1. When Is The Aggressor Not The Aggressor? When He Has Been Forced to Defend Himself and His Lost Honor

On February 12, 2009, immediately after stabbing his unarmed wife 40 times with two large hunting knives and then brutally beheading her, he became calm, relieved. For the first time in years, he felt “peaceful.” Only then did he feel “safe from the Evil Dragon Terrorist” which is how he referred to Aasiya Zubair Hassan, the wife he had viciously battered for seven years.

Muzzammil Syed Hassan quietly told the police that he had killed his wife—but he immediately pleaded “not guilty” to second-degree murder. In fact, he told the police and the media what he is now telling the judge, prosecutors and jury in a Buffalo courtroom: that he, not she, was the “abused” and long-suffering spouse.

How is this possible? How can a man with a long and terrible history of physically and psychologically battering three wives and physically and psychologically abusing his children as well—he once punched his 13-year-old son in the nose—say this and believe it with his whole heart?

In pre-trial interviews, Hassan insisted that he suffered immense psychological abuse and humiliation during his seven year marriage to a woman who publicly nurtured a false image as a kinder and more sympathetic woman.

“All abuse happens behind closed doors, thus NO witnesses,” Hassan stated in his most recent letter. “All abuse is psychological, emotional wounds are not visible, thus NO evidence. . . . What a perfect crime! Only the poorly trained abusers use physical violence and get caught, for physical abuse leaves behind evidence.”

In the hour leading up to the murder, Hassan sent Aasiya text messages saying:

I am a good man, Aasiya…a humble and decent man, made some mistakes, please don’t punish me so hard. God likes forgiveness…I have not done anything to hurt you since Sunday…

Like other batterers, he is not merely saying that Aasiya “provoked” him to kill her but that she had been torturing him for seven years: cleverly leaving no marks, while he had been suffering the torments of the damned. Finally, afraid of being exposed—either as a batterer or as a battered spouse, both humiliating possibilities for a leader of the Muslim-American community—he said that he “snapped.” He could take no more. He had to kill her to restore his peace of mind.

And so, he took control.

According to an article by Kristinn Taylor and Andrea Shea King over at Andrew Breitbart’s newest website, Big Peace, the anti-American, pro-Communist, pro-terrorist group Code Pink for Peace is raising money to support violent insurrection in Egypt.

Donations to Code Pink are tax deductible too so American leftists can even get a tax break for supporting Islamic jihad. That doesn’t sound right, does it?

In November, a wave of freshman Republican governors were elected across the nation, including Tea Party favorites John Kasich in Ohio, and Nikki Haley in South Carolina. As they take office and set to work fixing their respective states’ crises, both governors face organized resistance from progressives in their states. And by “organized resistance from progressives,” I mean “ridiculous charges of racism by Democrats.”

As covered previously at NewsReal, Ohio Democrats accused Kasich of being a closeted racist, as “proven” by his failure to fill Ohio progressives’ quota of minorities in his gubernatorial Cabinet. A few days later, South Carolina Democrats picked up the chorus, accusing Governor Haley of seeking out an all-Caucasian cabinet.

South Carolina State Representative Leon Howard (D-Richland) told the Columbia, SC State newspaper that his hackles were raised when he “went back [into the governor’s office today,] and all I did was shake white people’s hands.” Completely unaware of the non-Morrisettian irony of his statement, Rep. Howard added, “that’s offensive.”

One is led to wonder if Rep. Howard would find this choice cut from the shoulder shank of progressive tolerance “offensive,” as well.

Cagle Post is a national cartoon website started by famous political cartoonist Daryl Cagle. One of the cartoonists featured by the Post, Puerto Rico El Nuevo Día staffer Taylor Jones, posits an interesting theory: Nikki Haley is really a white girl.
