People who get paid to talk for a living are bound to make a lot of innocent mistakes when they talk. This includes our elected representatives. But mistakes made by conservatives almost always generate more media coverage than mistakes by liberals.
And so yet another dreary left-wing hit piece on Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) emerges. This time it is disguised as a fact-checking exercise. (Of course Bachmann’s misstatements are trifling compared to those of Barack “57 States” Obama and Joe “Stand Up For Chuck” Biden.)
The phony fact-checkers are Jonathan Martin and Kendra Marr of the Politico. They say Bachmann was wrong when she said that the Founding Fathers worked to get rid of slavery in the United States. Bachmann is quoted saying, “The very Founders that wrote those documents worked tirelessly until slavery was no more in the United States.” (Note: Founders is spelled with a lower-case F in the article. This is incorrect. When referring to the American Founding Fathers the upper-case must be used on the initial letters.)
The New York Times and its lawyers are sweating as they desperately look for an exit strategy. They’re tense right now because the Old Gray Lady libeled Brandon Darby, who undermined a plot to firebomb the 2008 GOP convention. Now Darby has returned fire with a defamation lawsuit against the supposed newspaper of record.
As I wrote at The Daily Caller on Friday, a New York Times article stated matter-of-factly that Darby “encouraged” two anarchists to attack Republicans — a complete falsehood. (Here is the full back story on Darby from a previous NewsReal post.) In fact as the judge sentenced one of the plotters he specifically made a finding that Darby had not encouraged the conspiracy. The far-left homegrown terrorist even admitted he had made the story up — and the judge gave him an extra heavy sentence for his lies. read more…
If You Save the Lives of Republican Delegates, the New York Times Thinks YOU Are the Terrorist
As a wave of left-wing union thuggery tries to intimidate the nation, why is the progressive New York Times running an ugly campaign of character assassination against a real-life American hero who saved lives and helped to safeguard the nation’s sacred democratic process? Could it be because the newspaper is sympathetic to the goals of the thuggish community organizers and union goons intimidating state legislatures across America and wants to help advance the liberal-left narrative?
The man with the bull’s eye on his back is Brandon Darby, formerly a far-left community organizer. This heroic defector from the Left stands accused by the New York Times and by angry radical groups of becoming an agent provocateur. Unhinged anarchists across the country would love to get their hands on him. All over the Internet Darby’s name has been dragged through the mud by the Daily Kos and Crooks and Liars crowd. They accuse him of selling out and pushing the wrongdoers hard enough that he essentially became a co-conspirator. Search for his name with the words traitor, rat, or fink and you’ll see what I mean.
Why is it whenever Democrats come to power the new top investigator is hailed as a champion of truth, justice, and the American Way but when Republicans take the House the new chief investigator is always a corrupt, malicious scoundrel controlled by moneyed special interests? read more…
It never ends with ultraleftist anti-American pro-terrorist Code Pink leader Medea Benjamin. After soliciting funds from Americans to promote Islamofascism and expressing horror that anyone in the U.S. would dare to oppose turning Egypt into an Islamofascist state, now she’s doing public relations work for the Muslim Brotherhood. read more…
Smearing Patriots Like Pamela Geller Is Just Another Day At The Office At The Southern Poverty Law Center
My colleague Jeff Dunetz detailed the repulsive, malicious, counterfactual attack on the prolific blogger Pamela Geller by the character assassins at the fundraising firm and phony watchdog group known as the Southern Poverty Law Center. I’ve been studying the megabucks slime factory for years. Among many other things, the SPLC is effectively pro-Islamic terrorism. Why else would it consider the Muslim Brotherhood front group, Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), upon which it bases its attack on Geller, to be credible and trustworthy? Something’s going on there that neither group is telling up about. read more…
Here’s an interesting interview the hyper-extreme left-wing Institute for Policy Studies did with trust fund brat Code Pink leader Medea Benjamin. As I previously blogged, Benjamin had recently been over in Egypt attempting to stir up trouble. Code Pink has a long history of working with Egypt’s enemies (and America’s enemies too).
When asked what role the U.S. should take on now in Egypt, Benjamin expressed horror that anyone stateside would dare to oppose the transmogrification of Egypt into an Iranian-style Islamic fundamentalist state. read more…
