Reds, Reds Everywhere, But Not a Reporter in Sight: The Media Ignores the Communists at Government Union Protests
Is it just my perception or are labor protests nowadays consistently bringing out more communists and various assorted America-haters than they used to? Communists, Marxist-Leninists, Trotskyists, Maoists, and other freaks have always been hangers-on at labor demonstrations but a decade ago they tended not to be a significant portion of the crowd.
As I like to say, all political parties and political movements attract kooks, but since Barack Obama became president, the kooks in the labor movement and on the left in general seem to have been multiplying like mogwai in a hot tub. The leftist protests in Madison, Wisconsin, against Gov. Scott Walker’s desperately needed belt-tightening measures seemed to inspire a lot of Marxists to come out of the (union made) woodwork. read more…
The man who ignited grassroots opposition to the hideously un-American Big Government policies of President Barack Obama when virtually no one else cared will end his highly rated show on Fox News Channel in December. Glenn Beck and Fox News Channel announced Wednesday they had agreed to let their contract run out. “Glenn intends to transition off his daily program, the third highest rated in all of cable news, later this year,” they said in a joint release. read more…
Self-described America-hating ”communist” and Arianna Huffington courtier Van Jones effectively gave a full-throated endorsement of the SEIU-led economic terrorism campaign that aims to bring America’s financial system to its knees. In an obnoxious self-righteous op-ed in the Huffington Post Jones, a longtime intimate of the ideologically flexible Huffington, hails anarchy and lawlessness. Jones wants deadbeat homeowners to fight to stay in their homes — using force against law enforcement personnel if necessary.
Jones, a Maoist who is now a fellow at the left-wing propaganda factory known as the Center for American Progress, compares a woman who refused to leave a home she couldn’t afford to Rosa Parks, incredibly enough. The woman is Catherine Lennon and she fell behind in mortgage payments after her husband died. It’s a sad state of affairs but it happens. There’s nothing unique or unusual or even interesting about it. You don’t pay your mortgage or your rent for any reason, you get evicted. It happens every day and there is nothing unfair about it.
But the media’s favorite Red tries to pull at the heart strings of the reader: read more…
Ah, leftist priorities. America is about to fall off a financial cliff yet so-called progressives now want to agitate among long-term unemployment insurance recipients known as 99ers – because they are eligible for 99 weeks of payments – from the government for not working. As if America, led by an imperial president who is now fighting three wars on two continents, doesn’t have enough problems.
Kat Aaron of the American Prospect, is outraged, outraged I tell you, that the 99ers haven’t risen up and initiated an American Reign of Terror. ”There are as many as 1.4 million Americans who have been unemployed so long they’ve exhausted their benefits, and they’re angry,” she huffs. ”So why aren’t they organizing?” (Aaron uses a more specific definition of 99ers. She describes them as “people who have exhausted all 99 weeks of available unemployment assistance.”)
The government estimates that 1.4 million Americans are in the same boat as Drescher — what the Bureau of Labor Statistics calls the “very long-term unemployed.” The National Employment Law Project puts the number far higher, at 3.9 million. “As long as the economy continues to be in bad shape,” says Claire McKenna, a policy analyst at NELP, “I can’t imagine the number is going to go down.” There are also almost 6 million people who have been out of work for 27 weeks or more, some of whom are on their way to 99er status. read more…
At first radical philanthropist George Soros decided he wanted to destroy America’s capitalist system and replace it with a command economy. He hasn’t even been beating around the bush about his twisted dream — and the mainstream media has no intention of calling him out for his treachery. This immigrant ingrate who miraculously survived the totalitarianism of Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union has a screw loose. Soros puts his money where his mouth is, even lending moral support to left-wing terrorist attacks against the United States.
Sort of like a Stockholm Syndrome sufferer, the seditious Soros has come to embrace the ideology of his brutal former tormentors. read more…
Finally a movie comes along that sticks it to the ruling class that is deliberately and maliciously driving America into the ground. The message of the movie adaptation of Ayn Rand’s 1,200-page opus, Atlas Shrugged, is that the productive should be able to go about their business without being hindered by the nonproductive and the anti-productive mischief makers of government. It is a celebration of the many virtues of capitalism, a topic I editorialized about previously at NewsReal. read more…
Another day, another leftist lie. This time it is an attack on the financial system that left-wing policies crippled over time. The lie is that bankers are conspiring against innocent people and having them rounded up and put in jail. It is complete and utter hogwash motivated by an abiding hostility toward markets.
Unfortunately, from time to time conservatives need to be reminded that apart from its op-ed pages the Wall Street Journal is not a conservative newspaper. Not even close. read more…
The Left’s Hate Campaign Against An American Hero Intensifies, Love Affair With Traitors Grows
The New York Times has retracted its smear of Brandon Darby yet the character assassination campaign against this American hero is only just beginning.
By way of background, Darby is the former left-wing community organizer who risked his life to prevent leftist terrorists from firebombing the GOP national convention in Minnesota in 2008. The Times falsely reported that he had “encouraged” the conspiracy even though one of the now-imprisoned terrorists admitted he lied about Darby’s complicity (and the trial judge made a specific finding that Darby was blameless — and then added extra time to the terrorist’s sentence for lying). read more…
