The Left often pays lip service to, while actually doing nothing about, the military’s Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell policy. Yet, in regards to radical Islam, that is exactly what the Left wants us to do. Don’t ask. And, dear Allah, never tell!
Instead, they prefer to demagogue American citizens, while “bitterly clinging” to their insane politically correct worship of diversity and tolerance. It’s funny how those who deride religion constantly are actually zealots in their own right. They worship at the altar of Better Than You ™ multiculturalism.
It has never been more apparent than it is now. In just the past couple of months alone, examples of this attitude have uncovered that what was once perhaps just dangerous naivety, is now the purposeful ignoring of what should be basic knowledge. Phyllis Chesler recently published an article entitled Worldwide Trends in Honor Killings. When the American Academy of Pediatrics released their “nicking” opinion, I said that it was the same as saying “well, don’t actually behead your wife in an honor killing. Just slit her throat a little.” Turns out, that actually is how the left thinks, as Chesler explains:
Former National Organization for Women (NOW) president Kim Gandy compared the battered and beheaded Aasiya Hassan[9] to the battered (but still living) pop star Rihanna and further questioned whether Hassan’s murder was an honor killing:
Is a Muslim man in Buffalo more likely to kill his wife than a Catholic man in Buffalo? A Jewish man in Buffalo? I don’t know the answer to that, but I know that there is plenty of violence to go around—and that the long and sordid history of oppressing women in the name of religion surely includes Islam, but is not limited to Islam.[10]
At the time of the Hassan beheading, a coalition of domestic violence workers sent an (unpublished) letter to the Erie County district attorney’s office and to some media stating that this was not an honor killing, that honor killings had nothing to do with Islam, and that sensationalizing Muslim domestic violence was not only racist but also served to render invisible the much larger incidence of both domestic violence and domestic femicide.
Misogyny apologizing again, under the guise of tolerance. Only now, that apologist position may end up being complicit in murders. Don’t ask! And don’t tell!
The Left’s default position is that other cultures, no matter how barbaric, must be revered and honored. But American traditions, must be eradicated and are the true root of all evil. Anyone who doesn’t do the same, must be a redneck-y rube. And a racist, of course.
My hometown in New Jersey, for instance, no longer has an Easter Egg Hunt. It is now called Spring Celebration with Bunny. A town that is lily white and primarily Christian and Jewish. In all my 39 years, I’ve yet to come across a person of the Jewish faith who was offended by easter bunnies or Christmas for that matter. And, even if offended, they’d never threaten to set off a bomb in the town or commit acts of violent intimidation as seen in this video after the assault on Lars Vilks. But, I suppose my “rich life experiences” don’t count, since I’m plain old Caucasian and all.
Finally, most recently our own Attorney General, Eric Holder, could not even bring himself to utter the word Islam when being questioned about the Faisal Shahzad investigation.
See, it’s not about truth or even common sense. It’s about furthering an agenda, always. That agenda relies on identity politics and is more important to them than actual human beings.
Apologizing for evil, violent acts is not embracing diversity. It’s embracing insanity. It’s not just condoning barbarism; it is complicit in it’s perpetuation.
So, I am asking. And I am telling. Because, as George Washington said, “If the freedom of speech is taken away then dumb and silent we may be led, like sheep to the slaughter.”

Today, in Columbia, South Carolina, two of the women who are showing America what real feminism is, will appear together, at which time Sarah Palin will officially endorse Nikki Haley for South Carolina Governor. I had the honor of meeting Nikki Haley, and hearing her speak, in Atlanta at the Red State Gathering last Summer.
She’s even more impressive in person than she is on paper (or web). She was one of several women, including Liz Cheney whom I also adore, who spoke at that event, each as impressive as the next. All smart as whips, charismatic, charming, quick, impassioned, energetic and with a fighting spirit embodying my personal motto: “Walk softly. But carry a big lipstick.”
The left hates that phrase and they have ridiculed me for it on more than one occasion. You see, they don’t get it. It’s not surprising, really, as we’ve all known for some time that while the left trots out the For The Women ™ meme constantly, they are anything but. The same way that self-avowed modern day feminists are anything but feminist. In fact, they are diametrically opposed to feminism, by it’s very definition, because their entire agenda is actually harmful to women. Illegal immigration is another area where the true racist and misogynistic tendencies of Liberals/Leftists appear. They have turned a blind eye to things like human trafficking as well as other extremely harmful aspects of illegal immigration, not only to our own economy, but to the people coming here illegally themselves.
Instead, they are currently more concerned with demonizing the state of Arizona and it’s new illegal immigration law than they are concerned with protecting the rights of citizens. They’ve also proven that they care not one whit about the people coming here illegally. They aren’t human beings to them; they are merely political pawns and cheap labor.
For instance, the feminist sites are up in arms over Arizona’s new law. Naturally, they do not understand the law in the slightest; most have not even read it, I’m sure. That doesn’t stop them from opening their mouths and proving their foolishness, though, as always. The left’s lack of intellectual prowess, as well as their absolute hypocrisy was also on display in regards to the child rapist known as Roman Polanski. Here is what the founder of the Feminist Majority Foundation said about that:
“My personal thoughts are let the guy go,” said Peg Yorkin, founder of the Feminist Majority Foundation. “It’s bad a person was raped. But that was so many years ago. The guy has been through so much in his life. It’s crazy to arrest him now. Let it go.”
Just let it go, will you? He makes super cool movies and he’s all arty and stuff. And like the intellectual giant, Whoopi Goldberg said, it wasn’t like it was “rape-rape.” The Hollywood Left all gathered around Polanski, even circulating a petition demanding his release. France’s Society of Film Directors said his arrest would have “disastrous consequences for the freedom of expression.”
The freedom to express pedophilia? Drugging and raping (yes, “rape-rape”) a 13-year-old CHILD. Who repeatedly said no. Over and over. Who was scared out of her mind, yet this “man” Polanski, continued to use and abuse her in various ways. Over and over again until he “freely expressed” his own sick enjoyment, for which he felt no remorse. He didn’t even believe he had done anything wrong. And neither does the Left, apparently.
How enlightened and cultured they are. The rape of a child is perfectly acceptable, so long as you dig the rapist’s art and his liberal thought. I suppose you all figured “Well, at least he tried not to get her pregnant. What’s a little sodomy? At least that way she wouldn’t be “punished with a baby.” Sheesh! Relax, you uncultured wingnuts! Plus, it’s not like he disagrees with Obama or wants to stop illegal immigration!”
Most recently, their silence was telling on Iran gaining a seat on the United Nation’s Commission on the Status of Women. From Leftist camps, there was either silence or there was attempted down-playing of Iran’s horrific record towards women. Others, again, tried to equate women in Iran being stoned to death or lashed for immodest dress with being pro-life here. No, really.
These are all just the latest examples that clearly show what some of us have always known. To the Left, the truth does not matter. What matters is their dangerously naive agenda. Their need to further that agenda, along with the narratives that they have set in stone, trumps all. They will also, even in the face of overwhelming facts and reason, keep repeating the lies. Eventually, they hope, the lies will be perceived as reality.
They care more about pushing politically correct “tolerance” and “diversity” memes, including in the form of appeasement, in order to further their identity politics agenda. They care more about that than they care about actual people, particularly women. I’ve said this before, but it’s something we must remember:
This is the difficulty we face, as people who do have moral compasses. We face an opponent who has none.

The Left constantly claims the mantle of being Pro-Women’s Rights. Yet, they prove time and time again that it is lip service only. In fact, they are often either misogynists or misogyny apologists themselves, all in the name of some sort of call for a perverted version of “diversity” and “tolerance.”
They’ve recently gone so far as to condone genital mutilation. They have defended child rape in the case of Roman Polanski. They are silent on Iran gaining a seat on the United Nation‘s Commission on the Status of Women. Why? Because it’s never actually about people to them. It’s all agenda-driven, always.
The latest instance, specifically Amanda Marcotte’s defense of the American Academy of Pediatrics’ recent decision to embrace genital mutilation is beyond infuriating. Shortly after the boondoggle known as the health care bill was passed, corporations discovered that the bill had a lot of detrimental factors to it, which, as Nancy Pelosi infamously said, we couldn’t find out until the bill was passed. As such, upon its passage, corporations began taking write-downs due to the elimination, by the new law, of many deductions they had previously been allowed to take.
This didn’t sit well with Representative Waxman, being utterly ignorant in the ways of business, and it got his rather unfortunate nose out of joint. He decided to use strong arm tactics, in his position as Chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee and demanded various things from corporations, including confidential memos. Egregious enough as that was, he didn’t stop there. Unfortunately for him and his fellow Democrats, there were unintended consequences of his strong arm tactics. They ended up revealing the intended consequences of the Health Care Bill:

Last week, Iran was appointed to the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women. Iran, making decisions and giving advice on the status of women.

The night the NYC car bomb attempt went down, I was so grateful that, once again, the diligence of the public and the swift action of the NYC Police thwarted yet another potential attack. Shortly thereafter, while still incredibly grateful obviously, I became angry. I’ve had it. Firstly, because the current strategy of homeland security seems to be “Hey, guys, we’ve totally unclenched our fists. We can haz cookie now?” Secondly, because the left and their media lackeys are not only dangerously naive, but also purposefully misleading.
They are so deeply invested in both political correctness and in their violent, racist “tea baggers” meme, it clouds all else. Even common sense and the security of our country. It was swiftly apparent that they were *wishing* that the failed bomber was a tea partier, so that they could further their lame narrative and continue to try to excuse Obama and his administration for their failures and utter incompetence. And yet another Democrat, who threw himself on the proverbial grenade by voting for the health care bill, drops out. David Obey (D-WI) is the latest health care suicide bomber to call it quits. I just hope he’s not expecting 72 virgins. This is particularly painful for the Democrats, since Obey’s name lent itself so well to their modus operandi: Obey! (or be called racist tea baggers).

In a major blow to Democrats, House Appropriations Committee Chairman David Obey has told close associates that he will not seek reelection and an announcement of his plans is expected as early as Wednesday.
The Wisconsin Democrat faces tough poll numbers at home, but until Tuesday night his staff had insisted he was running aggressively and had hired campaign staff. But a person close to him confirmed the decision to POLITICO Wednesday and said Obey was preparing to make a statement.
A press conference has been called at 1 p.m. and Obey staff indicated that he would announce his plans then.
Running scared. I’ve been trying to not be overly optimistic, but this bodes very well for Republicans in November. Obey has been re-elected twenty times. Twenty. read more…

I read this article in The Telegraph the other day about a 22 week old fetus, an unborn baby, who survived an abortion attempt and lived for two days; unattended to, abandoned and left to die. Alone.
After I stopped weeping and saying a prayer for that innocent life lost, a couple of other things struck me in the article.
A spokesman for the ProLife Alliance said: “There cannot be anybody in the world who is not horrified by a story like this nor anybody in the UK who would not support a massive reduction in the upper limit for abortion.”
Wrong. It happens here, too. And Pro-abortionists, including President Obama, aren’t horrified. In fact, they, and he, support late term abortion, as well as letting babies who have survived abortion attempts be left to die.
However, the infant survived the procedure, carried out on Saturday in the Rossano Calabro hospital, and was left by doctors to die. He was discovered alive the following day – some 20 hours after the operation – by Father Antonio Martello, the hospital chaplain, who had gone to pray beside his body.
He found that the baby, wrapped in a sheet with his umbilical cord still attached, was moving and breathing.
Pro-abortion advocates disingenuously argue about viability. Firstly, alleged viability occurs earlier and earlier with advancements in medicine. Secondly, what about life itself? This baby was Life. With a heart and a soul, that included the spirit and the will to live, so strong even at the hands of those who tried to purposefully snuff that life out.
I used to lament the fact that we no longer have a president who can speak on his own without being spoon-fed words via teleprompter. Now, however, I’m glad for it. Obama’s reliance on being fed his words makes him unable to speak extemporaneously without revealing his true beliefs. He did so again, when he decided to ad lib during a speech on Wall Street reform, and his old favorite—redistribution of wealth—came to the forefront. From Hot Air (video clip after the jump):
