I live in Illinois, which is like living in a gulag for conservatives. A little over a year ago, I confronted CNN reporter, Susan Roesgen, for unfairly reporting the Chicago Tea Party protest. I continue to detest the corrupt media.
Our own Eva Peron has been unseated. Just as she redistributed the wealth of Argentina and took it into bankruptcy, Nancy Pelosi fought hard to redistribute the wealth in America. The more we protested, the harder she fought for it. She reminded me of the abusive parent who hits her child harder the more the child cries from the beating. Yesterday as she transferred power over to the GOP, she had the chutzpah to say that the Democrats were committed to fiscal responsibility. No matter what the pundits say about the limitations facing the GOP controlled House, they must systematically reform Nancy Pelosi’s healthcare law if they cannot repeal it.
With Pelosi’s departure there is a chance for reform, regardless of the challenges. What can the Republicans do if they can’t get it repealed? The GOP should start by introducing tort reform legislation on medical malpractice claims, and institute damage limitations. They should also require the losers in a case to pay the legal fees of the winners in order to curtail frivolous lawsuits. If doctors don’t fear frivolous malpractice cases they won’t need to order countless unnecessary and expensive tests. This is where the real savings will occur with tort reform. read more…
My husband and I are going to take a flight in a few days, and my main concern is how I’m going to restrain him from getting us arrested. The new TSA regulations are just the thing that gets my Libertarian husband crazy. It took him a year to stop talking about the Patriot Act, and he’s now getting that same glazed look in his eyes over the new TSA procedures.
I’ve tried to make him laugh by telling him that at least someone will be fondling him in the next few days, but he didn’t find that amusing. I’ve told him to just go through the scanner and be done with it, but he thinks that’s giving in to the government’s demands too easily. He insists on making some sort of statement, so he’s trying to come up with something he could do to show his protest of this intrusion into his privacy. The reality is we have no freedom when it comes to airport security rules. read more…

Jon Stewart sat down with Rachel Maddow last week for a lengthy interview to talk about the media, and the intent of his Restore Sanity rally. Stewart’s critique of cable news and his take on the Tea Party movement gives me hope that there are some famous s0-called liberals who respect our point of view even if they don’t agree with it. Stewart insists his show is not a fake news show, but rather he looks at himself as the “Roger Ebert” of the news business. He says his show “critiques” the news just as Ebert critiques the movies. And he has a problem with both conservative and leftist media personalities and how they polarize the public. read more…

Isn’t it funny how most of the elections that weren’t decided on November 2nd are now being won by Democrats? As I am writing this, Democrat Congresswoman Melissa Bean of IL 8th is playing by the Chicago Democrat Machine Playbook, Rules For Thieves. This is where nursing home patients afflicted with dementia find it all important to cast their absentee ballots for the Democrats. They can’t remember their children’s names, but they cast absentee ballots in every election. Right. So it goes in Illinois, where the Democrats are getting ballots every day from mental institutions and nursing homes for Melissa Bean.
Her opponent, Republican Joe Walsh, had an advantage of about 500 votes on election night, and the Dems have been producing mysterious ballots for Bean every day since. We still have no answer on this election.
Here’s hoping that Bill O’Reilly doesn’t back down on his comments regarding Islam after his appearance on The View the other day. So far, he hasn’t. But tonight, Unibrow In Chief, Deepak Chopra is appearing on The O’Reilly Factor. Look for Chopra to spread his Islam propaganda once again. The New Age Psychobabbler with the one eyebrow has no credibility left to anyone who has studied the Qur’an and Mohammed. Yet he continues to obfuscate the truth in that all knowing haughty tone of his whenever he’s invited to chime in. read more…
The University of Illinois denied the terrorist William Ayers emeritus status today. Thank God for some semblance of sanity.
Trustee Chairman Chris Kennedy made an impassioned plea to the board noting that Ayers dedicated his book Prairie Fire to among others, Sirhan Sirhan, the man who murdered his father, Robert Kennedy.
I wonder whether there was a lot of hand wringing over this decision, or whether it was an easy one for the trustees. After all, they kept Ayers on their faculty for 20 years. At any point did they consider that it was a black mark on their university for having this pathetic little rich boy terrorist on their faculty? Did they ever think that? Apparently not. It makes me sick whenever a Chicago radio station or television station invites Ayers on their show to talk about education reform as if he should be treated as an authority and respected citizen. Yet it happens quite often here. read more…
Though the media was there, they refused to broadcast what they saw. According to Pamela Geller, there were 40,000 people gathered at Ground Zero, most in opposition to building a mosque there. Yet the media chose to censor the protest by ommission. No coverage, no pictures, no sound. Do they think we will change our minds if they don’t cover it? Do they think they are noble and doing the world a favor by not broadcasting the truth? read more…

Soledad O’Brien interviewed Imam Rauf last night on “Larry King Live.”
Rauf’s contention that we must accept the building of the mosque near Ground Zero because “moving it would embolden Islamic radicals, and in the Muslim world it would be considered an attack on Islam” is a threat. He seems to be saying that Americans better not fight this, or we’ll pay for our opposition to it by being attacked. That sounds like the same argument used against publishing a cartoon, or a book, or making a film exposing Islam’s violence. If you do it, you will die. Comedy Central took that kind of threat seriously by not showing criticism of Islam.

Now that the Imam is back in the US, he has finally spoken out on his plans for the Cordoba Mosque. Today the New York Times published an op-ed from the Imam stating his opinion that the mosque must be built near Ground Zero, in spite of the fact that the New York Times poll shows two thirds of New Yorkers are against it. The essential problem is that for a supposedly peaceful and “moderate” man, Rauf’s aggressive stance ignores the feelings of Americans, and disregards every point we make about this controversy. It’s as if we are not saying anything because he doesn’t address the crux of the opposition’s argument: Yes, you have the right to build the mosque at Ground Zero, but it is wrong for you to do it. read more…
