The Obama Administration’s Invitation To The Muslim Brotherhood

2011 February 2

Rich Lowry’s column in the New York Post yesterday entitled “Hope & Fear in the ‘Arab Spring'” should be required reading at the White House. Lowry reminded us that, while “every revolution against autocracy is initially stirring,” they don’t always end up as well as the American Revolution. He cited the promising beginnings of the French, Russian and Iranian revolutions that were

mere prelude to catastrophe, making the years 1789, 1917 and 1979 synonymous with the onset of tyranny and bloodshed

Will the current revolution in the streets of Egypt end well or badly? The Obama White House can’t directly control the outcome, although it appears to have succeeded in moving President Hosni Mubarak closer to the exits. Under strong pressure from Obama, Mubarak declared yesterday that he would step down this September, which will still not be fast enough for the protestors or, for that matter, Obama. However, the Obama administration has gone one dangerous step further. It is helping pave the way towards a potential disaster – the creation of a radical Islamic state under the rule of the Muslim Brotherhood. read more…

The Muslim Brotherhood Sharks Are Circling In Egypt

2011 February 1

The sharks are circling as hundreds of thousands of protesters continue to pour into the streets of Egypt and the government of Egyptian dictator President Hosni Mubarak is tottering. The  radical Islamic Muslim Brotherhood,  the most organized opposition group in Egypt, is trying to insert itself into a governing coalition to take over the reins of government. This would be a very bad development for the region as well as for the United States, because it would open the door to what we have seen in Iran, Lebanon and Gaza – the use of democratic means to achieve a radical Islamist end.

On the “O’Reilly Factor” last night, Bill O’Reilly gave the Obama administration a grade of B for its handling of the crisis in Egypt so far. Surprisingly, his left-wing guest  Marc Lamont Hill gave the Obama administration a D-. The reason for grading the president whom he reveres so poorly, Hill explained, is the Obama administration’s continued attachment to Egypt’s dictatorial president over the last two years. I think it is too early to pass judgment on the Obama administration in this instance, but its handling of the threat of a Muslim Brotherhood takeover will be crucial. read more…

Paul v. Paul – Paul Krugman Loses A Round To GOP Fiscal Conservative Paul Ryan

2011 January 28

Paul Krugman claimed in his New York Times op -ed article today that Republicans have mischaracterized what has happened in Europe to justify their own austerity program of significant budget cuts to reduce the national debt rather than monetizing it. He complained that Congressman Paul Ryan, who delivered the Republicans’ response to President Obama’s spend-by-another-name State of the Union Address, had appropriated Europe’s debt problems on behalf of their own agenda, “never mind the fact that events in Europe actually point the other way.”

Krugman started losing the argument by the third paragraph of his column when he conceded that the Republicans were right about Greece, where dithering on dealing with their significant deficit problem led to their economic crisis. So score one for Paul Ryan and the GOP. read more…

President Obama’s Hindenburg Moment

2011 January 26

President Barack Obama tried mightily to pull a Bill Clinton and move to the political center last night in his State of the Union address. But Obama is no Clinton. His roots are too deeply planted in the soil of progressivism to permit a true conversion. Clinton, on the other hand, had come out of the Democratic Party’s centrist wing and was more of an opportunistic politician than an ideologue.

Thus, Obama’s attempt to reach the stars with his oratory about America reaching its “sputnik moment” failed to take off and ended more like his own Hindenburg moment. read more…

Sweeping The Truth About China’s Dictatorship Under The Red Carpet

2011 January 24

While Bill O’Reilly and Dennis Miller engaged in silly banter on “The O’Reilly Factor” about the menu at last week’s lavish state dinner for Chinese President Hu Jintao, Jay Leno got right to the point with this scathing joke:

There was one really awkward moment when Hu found out that Obama was a Nobel Peace Prize winner and, out of force of habit, tried to have him arrested.

Leno was referring to the incarceration of Chinese Nobel Peace Prize winner Liu Xiaobo, who is serving an eleven year sentence on subversion charges after he called for sweeping political reforms and an end to Communist Party dominance. The Chinese dictators have followed up with a harsh crackdown on Liu’s supporters. read more…

“Palin Libels Rauf” – What Was The National Review Thinking?

2011 January 20

As if Sarah Palin hasn’t suffered enough grief over the last couple of weeks, National Review Online came out of left field with an inane column accusing the former Alaska Governor of “libel.” The object of Palin’s alleged libel was apparently the former imam of the Ground Zero Mosque, Feisal Abdul Rauf.

Detroit News political cartoonist Henry Payne wrote the column, accusing Palin of falsely describing Imam Rauf as a Hamas apologist who refused to acknowledge the fact that Hamas is a terrorist organization. read more…

The New Ground Zero Mosque Imam Selection Rubs More Salt Into The Wound – Past Connections To Terrorist Supporters Exposed

2011 January 19

Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf is out as the religious face of the Park 51/Cordoba House mega mosque community center complex proposed to be built near Ground Zero. Rauf became too radioactive for the project’s developers, so he was pushed aside. Despite efforts by some apologists to defend this faux ‘moderate, the evidence of his  true stealth jihad agenda was overwhelming.

Therefore, to keep moving ahead with their Ground Zero mosque project, the developers turned to Shaykh Abdallah Adhami as Rauf’s replacement. This is just like rubbing more salt into the wound. All that the new imam represents is a different mask hiding the same radical Islamist agenda. read more…

“Just an Entertainer”: Bill O’Reilly Gives Bill Maher A Free Pass to Give America the Finger

2011 January 18

Would-be comedian and commentator Bill Maher decided to close out this season’s premiere of Real Time with his tiresome rant against the Tea Party – or, as he likes to call them, the “teabaggers.” Maher, a Leftist windbag, once again is giving the finger to the American people and to our Constitution – a trait he shares with so many of his friends on the Left.

On “The O’Reilly Factor” last night, Bill O’Reilly chided Maher for not following President Obama’s advice to engage in  more civil dialogue. However, he let Maher off the hook on the grounds that he was just an entertainer, not a journalist. read more…

The Global Radical Islamic Threat To Freedom: Ignore Or Excuse At Our Peril

2011 January 15

This popular post was first published on January 6 here.

In an editorial today entitled “Under Siege,” the New York Times laments the recent violence committed by radical Islamists against Christians in Egypt and Iraq. Yesterday, the Times ran an editorial entitled “A Brave Man Killed,” in which it lamented the assassination of Salman Taseer, the governor of Pakistan’s Punjab province who had called for the repeal of Pakistan’s anti-blasphemy law. This law, popular with Pakistan’s Muslim majority, imposes a mandatory death sentence on anyone convicted of insulting Islam.

Under the anti-blasphemy law, a Christian mother of four was sentenced to death.

The Times recognizes these symptoms of a virulent disease but is incapable or unwilling to connect the dots in order to decipher its cause or scope – global Islamic fundamentalism. read more…

Hillary Clinton Must Either Recant Or Resign

2011 January 14

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has her own obsession with supposed right-wing conspiracies, going back to the days of her husband’s administration. But her continued attempt to attribute the insane actions of the mentally deranged alleged shooter Jared Loughner to political extremism and mentioning his actions in the same breath as al Qaeda is beyond the pale.

Clinton should recant at once. Otherwise, if President Obama really meant what he said in his Tuscon speech about moving beyond the finger-pointing rhetoric of the last few days, he must ask for his Secretary of State’s resignation. read more…

President Obama Delivered A Moving Speech In Tuscon But Will He Live Up To Its Message?

2011 January 13

In what I think was his best speech by far during his presidency, President Barack  Obama spoke movingly last night at the memorial service for the victims of last Saturday’s shooting massacre.  He touched on the lives of each of the slain and talked about how we can honor them by not using the tragedy to turn on each other.

Perhaps the high point of Obama’s speech was when he broke from his prepared remarks to share the news that Rep. Gabrielle Giffords opened her eyes Wednesday for the first time since Saturday’s shooting massacre. read more…

Hillary Clinton’s Dangerous Bout Of Moral Equivalency

2011 January 12

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton insulted her country while traveling in the Middle East this past week and participating in a televised feel-good town hall-style meeting at a college in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

This is nothing new for the Obama administration, which makes a habit of trying to make dysfunctional societies feel better by highlighting our faults and engaging in a game of moral equivalency. However, Clinton took this game to a whole new, disgraceful level. read more…
