7 Reasons Iran is an International Menace

2011 February 20

The Islamic Republic of Iran is run by evil megalomaniacs, starting with the supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. They are intent on hastening the arrival of the 12th Imam, the latest in the succession of imams believed  by some Islamic Shiite fundamentalists to be the direct descendants of Prophet Muhammad and the carriers of his message on earth.

The 12th Imam, named  Muhammad al-Mahdi, is said to have been born in present-day Iraq in 869 AD and is still alive, waiting to come out of hiding at the appropriate time.  Hence, his alternative name: the Hidden Iman. read more…

President Obama’s Uncivil Defense Of Spoiled, Uncivil Wisconsin Public Unions

2011 February 18

Instead of seriously trying to reduce the federal deficit, President Obama has sought fit to attack Republican Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker for trying to balance Wisconsin’s runaway budget. President Obama claimed that Governor Walker’s proposed reforms to the public union collective bargaining rights and his demands for increased contributions by Wisconsin’s spoiled state workers to help pay for their cushy benefits and pension plans are an “assault on unions.”

Governor Walker is confronting the public labor unions, whose sweetheart deals under previous administrations have pushed the state towards fiscal bankruptcy. If something is not done immediately, the state’s budget deficit for the next two year cycle could rise to $3.6 billion. Unlike Obama, who ducked the hard choices on entitlements and other controversial issues when he presented his own budget for the 2012 fiscal year, Walker is courageously confronting his state’s financial problems. read more…

President Obama’s Freudian Slip On His Budget

2011 February 16

President Obama had a Freudian slip at his press conference yesterday while touting his new budget for the 2012 fiscal year. Before immediately catching himself and continuing on with his spin, he dropped the “S-Bomb” in declaring that his budget would bring:

annual domestic spending to its lowest sh** — lowest share to the economy since Dwight Eisenhower

Obama could not help but concede – albeit, for just a second or two – that his budget proposal was in reality a pile of manure.  Consider, for example, that balanced budgets are promised by mid-decade, but only if mounting interest costs on the debt are excluded from the calculations. That’s like trying to pretend your household budget is in great shape by just forgetting about counting the mortgage, car and credit card interest owing every month. read more…

President Obama’s Moral Cowardice In Iran

2011 February 15

President Obama has shown moral  cowardice  in dealing with the brutal crack-down on the peaceful protesters in Iran.

Ironically, it was at a press conference dealing with his new budget that Obama finally got around to saying something about Iran, after being asked to comment by a reporter. It was more of a professorial exposition on how lasting change can be brought and about the Iranian government’s hypocrisy than a direct, much less passionate, denunciation of the Iranian regime. read more…

Repeating Early Praise for the Ayatollah Khomeini in 1979,The New York Times Extols The Muslim Brotherhood As A “Mainstream,” “Venerable” Group

2011 February 14

In 1979, as the Ayatollah Khomeini was seizing power in Iran and turning a largely peaceful secular revolution into a brutal Islamic theocracy, the New York Times ran an op-ed column entitled “Trusting Khomeini.” The column argued that Khomeini  was being depicted unfairly as an anti-Semitic theocratic reactionary when instead,

Iran may yet provide us with a desperately-needed model of humane governance for a third-world country

We all know how that turned out.

Last Sunday, the New York Times ran a “news analysis” on its front page, a primary message  of which was that Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood can be trusted because it “has long disavowed its violent past” and “has de-emphasized the mainstays of Islamic activism.” They are a “counterexample” to Hamas, the Times writer tells us, forgetting that the Muslim Brotherhood created Hamas. read more…

The New York Times Equates The Roman Catholic Church To The Radical Islamic Muslim Brotherhood

2011 February 12

This popular post was originally published February 6, 2011.

The New York Times continues to operate in a delusional bubble. In an article last Friday about the Islamist Muslim Brotherhood, entitled “Islamist Group Is Poised to Be a Power in Egypt, but Its Intentions Are Unclear,” the reporter Scott Shane actually compared the Muslim Brotherhood to today’s Catholic Church:

As the Roman Catholic Church includes both those who practice leftist liberation theology and conservative anti-abortion advocates, so the Brotherhood includes both practical reformers and firebrand ideologues.

The comparison might have made sense five or six hundred years ago when the Catholic Church and the state were intertwined and the Church ordered heretics to be burnt at the stake. But, in case the Times hasn’t noticed, the Church has moved on since then while Islamic sharia law, on which the Muslim Brotherhood’s ideology is based, has not. read more…

Big Lie in Bill O’Reilly’s Obama Interview: The Muslim Brotherhood Has Only One Strain, An Islamic Supremacist Virus

2011 February 11

This popular post was first published here on Feb. 7, 2011.

Bill O’Reilly conducted a live pre-Super Bowl interview yesterday of President Obama from the White House on Fox. Given the time constraints and the protocols governing respect for the office of the President, O’Reilly’s tone was more constrained than usual, but he still managed to elicit some disturbing insights into Obama’s thinking.

For example, President Obama told O’Reilly that he’s not terribly concerned about the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt. After all, according to Obama, who invited members of the Muslim Brotherhood to attend his own speech in Cairo in June 2009 and who has invited the president of a Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated Islamic organization in America to the White House for Ramadan dinners, only certain “strains” of the Muslim Brotherhood’s ideology  “are against the U.S.” and the Muslim Brotherhood is only “one faction in Egypt.”

That’s like saying that there are only certain strains of a dangerous virus that will kill us immediately as opposed to causing a long painful illness. Could Obama be hoping for something in his Obamacare legislation that will provide a cure?

Perhaps the President has forgotten that the Muslim Brotherhood spawned the terrorist organization Hamas. Perhaps he skipped over the senior London-based Muslim Brotherhood leader Muhammad Ghanem’s statement to Iran’s Arabic-language news station, Al-Alam, that the Egyptian people “should be prepared for war against Israel.”

Backing Ghanem’s stance, Muslim  Brotherhood deputy leader in Egypt Rashad al-Bayoumi  later told Japan’s NHK TV that a new provisional government, presumably including Muslim Brotherhood participants, should dissolve the 30 year old peace treaty with Israel. Is war against Israel one of those “strains” of the Muslim Brotherhood’s ideology that President Obama is willing to accept? How about their call for the immediate closing of the Suez Canal?

But the Muslim Brotherhood does not have to be a carbon copy of al Qaeda to pose a danger to the United States and Israel and to freedom loving people in Egypt as well.

Just to remind President Obama of what the Muslim Brotherhood’s supreme leader Muhammad Badie has said recently:

According to the Islamic shari’a that Allah [has bequeathed] to mankind, the status of the Muslims, compared to that of the infidel nations that arrogantly [disdain] his shari’a, is measured in a kind of scale, in which, when one side is in a state of superiority, the other is in a state of inferiority…Resistance is the only solution against the Zio-American arrogance and tyranny, and all we need is for the Arab and Muslim peoples to stand behind it and support it…The U.S. is now experiencing the beginning of its end, and is heading towards its demise

The Muslim Brotherhood’s stance on the implementation of Islamic law, women’s rights  and policies toward Egypt’s sizeable Coptic Christian minority does not represent just some mutant strain of fringe elements of the radical Islamic group. It represents the heart of the Muslim Brotherhood’s Islamic supremacist, misogynist ideology that is lethal to the freedom loving ideals of Western civilization.

What the Muslim Brotherhood Tells The West It Wants Versus What It Really Wants

2011 February 10

The New York Times ran an op-ed column today entitled “What the Muslim Brothers Want.” Its author is Essam El-Errian, a member of the guidance council of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, whom the Times described in a prior article as the council’s “lone ‘reformist.'” This appears to be the same Muslim Brotherhood member who reportedly met with Frank Wisner, a former U.S. ambassador to Egypt, recently at the U.S. embassy in Cairo during Mr. Wisner’s fact-finding mission on behalf of the Obama administration.

El-Errian tries to paint a moderate portrait of the Muslim Brotherhood as a peace-loving group that

stands firmly behind the demands of the Egyptian people as a whole

Don’t be fooled. This lone ‘reformist’ is engaging in the time-honored Muslim tradition of lying about their own faith to conceal its true nature – a practice known as taqiyya. read more…

Glenn Beck’s Mindless Critics On The Muslim Brotherhood

2011 February 9

Glenn Beck has hit back effectively against his critics – from the Left as usual, but some also from the Right – who believe that his warnings about the Islamist Muslim Brotherhood are sheer lunacy. MSNBC’s Chris Matthews – who is apparently trying to take Keith Olbermann‘s place as the network’s leading left-wingnut – has compared Beck to the extremist John Birch Society.  On the Right, the Weekly Standard’s Bill Kristol criticized Beck’s “hysteria” and used the same absurd John Birch Society comparison. But unlike his critics who engage in wishful thinking, Beck has used the words of Muslim Brotherhood leaders themselves, quoted fully in context, to demonstrate their ambitions for a sharia law-based caliphate completely at odds with a truly democratic, pluralistic society. read more…

The Real Haters: Radical Islamists And Leftists

2011 February 3

David Horowitz and I have apparently hit a sore spot on the radical Left. They feel that we have been too hard in our recent articles on their kindred spirit, the radical Islamist Muslim Brotherhood.

For example, the Daily Kos ran something called “Egypt Liveblog: Sub-Diary #30” which attracted this introduction to my post on February 1st:

From Professional Hater, David Horowitz:

by Joseph Klein (hater-in-waiting)

More ominously, Alex Jones’ Infowars.com published a death threat after quoting from David Horowitz’s article and mine:
