Allah Will Be Watching Over Ground Zero

2010 October 5

The sponsors of the Ground Zero Mosque have displayed a new series of architectural renderings to show the world what their monument to Islamic victory will look like. The building is dressed in a honeycomb of abstract hexagonal shapes that some observers have said appears to incorporate the Jewish symbol of the Star of David and others have compared to the crystalline headquarters of Superman, depicted in comic books, known as the Fortress of Solitude.

The company behind the development pointed out that the hexagram is used in Islam as well as in Judaism, Christianity and in other religions. read more…

Alan Grayson: The Democrats’ Rabid Swamp Rat

2010 October 1

Freshman Rep. Alan Grayson, D-Fla., the radical leftist firebrand who said from the floor of the House of Representatives that the GOP health care plan is for sick Americans to “die quickly,” is now running his own very sick campaign for re-election. The Democrats‘ rabid swamp rat has taken yet another bite out of the truth.

Grayson released a political ad that equated his Republican opponent Daniel Webster with the Taliban, trivializing the true suffering that women endure under strict Islamic law. Grayson knowingly took a few words from a Webster speech referring to the Bible in order to deceive voters into thinking that Webster had said exactly the opposite of what Webster actually did say. read more…

The Left Wants Government to Swallow Our Universities

2010 September 30

Richard D. Kahlenberg, a senior fellow at the progressive Century Foundation , wrote an op-ed article for the New York Times entitled “Elite Colleges, or Colleges for the Elite.”   Kahlenberg argued that a way should be found for the federal govenment to intervene in the decisions of each private university and college, preventing them from considering in the mix of factors going into an admissions decision whether a child of an alumnus is applying to that  institution.

Kahlenberg says that any preferences shown to children of alumni are a uniquely “American contrivance” virtually unknown in the rest of the world. The high educational quality and openness of  American universities and colleges are also virtually unknown in most parts of the world, but Kahlenberg does not seem to care about that. read more…

Barack Obama Rolling Downhill With Rolling Stone

2010 September 29

President Barack Obama decided to trash Fox News and the Tea Party movement yet again – this time in the same magazine that brought down the President’s hand-picked general leading our war effort in Afghanistan. Yes, I am referring to that stellar example of serious and objective journalism, Rolling Stone Magazine.

Obsessed with the one TV network that displays some healthy skepticism about his leadership and policies, President Obama told Rolling Stone that Fox News has

a point of view that I disagree with. It’s a point of view that I think is ultimately destructive of the long-term growth of a country that has a vibrant middle class and is competitive in the world read more…

More Condescension And Crocodile Tears From The Ground Zero Mosque Imam

2010 September 28

Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, the spiritual head of the Ground Zero mosque known as Cordoba House,  is continuing to manipulate the pliable mainstream media to serve his deceptive ends.

Appearing on CBS’ “60 Minutes” last Sunday, Rauf tried to put a happy face on his towering Islamic mega-mosque/community center:

It’s the right thing to do. Our community wants it. And now America needs it. And the Muslim world needs it.

Rauf is right when he says that the “Muslim world needs” his Cordoba House to be built right in the shadow of Ground Zero –  for its own self-glorification.  It would serve as what the imam once called an “icon” to make the whole Muslim world proud. read more…

The Bankroller-In-Chief For The Left And Against The Tea Party: George Soros

2010 September 24

The New York Times is running an editorial today entitled “Tea Party’s Big Money.” It claims that the Tea Party is not really the insurgent, anti-Washington establishment people’s movement it purports to be:

In earthbound reality, many of the people pulling the Tea Party’s strings are establishment Republican operatives and lobbyists.

The Times‘ editorial is long on sneers, but short on specific examples to back up its charges. It mentions only three – Sal Russo, a political consultant who established the Tea Party Express; Dick Armey, the former House Republican leader who founded FreedomWorks; and Carl Paladino, a businessman from Buffalo New York who is the Republican nominee for governor of New York.

Yet they are bit players in comparison with the bankroller-in-chief of  progressive causes –  the multi-billionaire, self-admitted amoral player of the global financial markets, George Soros. read more…

What Is George Soros Afraid Of?

2010 September 23

My fellow NewsReal blogger Kathy Shaidle, who resides in Canada where protection of free speech is weak to say the least, has unfortunately run right into the George Soros’ legal buzz saw. Threatened with a lawsuit by Soros’ Canadian counsel for referencing and excerpting from an article in the Toronto Sun which claimed that George Soros, as a teenager in his native land of Hungary, had “collaborated with the Nazis,” Kathy revised her post and removed the reference.

Ironically, the main thrust of Kathy’s post was an ongoing effort by, a left-wing organization that is supported by the George-Soros- funded, to suppress free speech in Canada . Avaaz filed a petition to keep Sun TV News from getting a license for the rarest of phenomena in Canada – a non-leftist, politically incorrect news channel. read more…

President Obama Gets An Earful From His Own Disillusioned Supporters

2010 September 21

President Barack Obama was forced to confront the people about his failed presidency yesterday, rather than his own inflated self-image.  He faced some very disillusioned folks, including from the ranks of his own supporters during a televised CNBC town-hall-style meeting yesterday. Here is a sample:

“I’m exhausted of defending you, defending your administration, defending the mantle of change that I voted for,” said the first questioner, an African-American woman who identified herself as a chief financial officer, a mother and a military veteran. “I’ve been told that I voted for a man who was going to change things in a meaningful way for the middle class and I’m waiting sir, I’m waiting. I still don’t feel it yet.

Message to Nicholas Kristof: Tell Americans You Are Sorry

2010 September 20

In his New York Times op-ed article yesterday entitled “Message to Muslims: I’m Sorry,” Nicholas D. Kristof shamelessly lumped all Muslims together as the target of

the wave of bigotry and simple nuttiness that has lately been directed at you

He also lumped with the tiny minority of bigots amongst us all Americans who have raised legitimate concerns about such issues as the location of the mega-mosque community center two blocks from Ground Zero. Kristoff owes us an apology.

Kristoff decries the “spasm of religious hatred” against Muslims, which he blames on “extremists.”  But he should know better. The pure religious aspects of Islam practiced by devout Muslims  – such as prayers five times a day, fasting during Ramadan, not eating pork – are not the problem for most Americans. The issue, which Kristoff sweeps under the prayer rug so to speak, is the all-encompassing political, legal and social ideology grafted on to the religion of Islam known as sharia (Islamic law). read more…

The Obama Administration Goes Along With UN ‘Apartheid-Style Ban’ Against Israel

2010 September 17

When the Obama Administration decided to join the discredited, Islamic bloc-dominated United Nations Human Rights Council, it was supposedly to help reform this wayward institution. Instead, as EyeontheUN editor Anne Bayefsky points out, the United States under President Obama has joined the human rights-crashing party while not achieving one iota of improvement in the Council’s processes.

What kind of body that calls itself the “Human Rights Council” has as its members such countries as the repressive regimes of Libya and Saudi Arabia? Yet the Obama Administration has sucked the United States directly into this cauldron. read more…

Justice Stephen Breyer: Burning the Koran May Not be Protected By the First Amendment (Even though burning the American Flag Is)

2010 September 16

Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer said on ABC‘s “Good Morning America” yesterday that he’s not prepared to conclude — in the internet age, particularly — that the First Amendment would protect the burning of the Koran, despite Supreme Court precedent that protects the burning of the American flag as free expression.

This startling statement is very important because President Obama has said that Justice Breyer is his role model for the ideal kind of Supreme Court justice he would nominate. And, less than half way through his first term as President, Obama has already picked two Supreme Court justices in Breyer’s mold, if not even more to the Left – Justices Elena Kagan and Sonia Sotomayor. read more…

Imam Rauf’s Cordoba House: Inter-Faith Symbol Or Icon For The Muslim World?

2010 September 16

Much of the lame-street press appears to be in Imam Faisel Abdul Rauf‘s corner. The New York Times, CNN and ABC have given him a platform to come across as a nice guy interested only in peace and reconciliation. Hard questions, such as the imam’s close association with a 9/11 Truther, are ignored. Indeed, if you raise such questions and oppose the location of the Islamic mega-mosque/community center complex near Ground Zero, you are called a bigot who is intolerant of religious diversity.

Even Fox News, which has raised the most questions about Imam Rauf’s past statements, his intentions and sources of funding, has not focused as much on this man’s double-speak. Rauf says one thing to American audiences and quite another to Muslim audiences abroad. read more…
