Boehner Makes His First Move to Repeal ObamaCare

Comments Off on Boehner Makes His First Move to Repeal ObamaCare

John Boehner:

“ObamaCare is a job-killer, and our economy simply cannot afford this unprecedented, unconstitutional power grab by the federal government,” Boehner stated Tuesday evening. “That is why Republicans will continue standing with the American people and fighting to repeal ObamaCare and replace it with better solutions put forth in the Pledge to America to lower health care costs and protect American jobs.”

“Boehner is moving in the Right direction and should keep moving that way. We’ve seen too many GOP politicians talk a tough game only to balk and become one of them compromisers. The American people are in a good position right now to see the GOP  follow through with the principles they claimed to have during the campaign season, because if the Republicans balk and fail to push the mandate that was given to them by the American people, you can expect the Tea Party to go for their necks for it.”

“Besides if the Republicans have any brains or understand any semblance of rational self-interest they would follow through on their pledge to repeal ObamaCare. Other than the fact that it’s the Right thing to do, it is also in the GOP’s interest to actually accomplish something that’s actually based on limited government principles rather than the “accomplishments” they had a few years ago, which consisted of big government bills that were indiscernible from legislation put forward by the statists they claimed to hate.”

Krugman Endorses Death Panels

Comments Off on Krugman Endorses Death Panels

“The left’s favorite economist, who condemned others for saying ObamaCare would require death panels, now admits they are real and necessary. The way to control costs, he says, is death and taxes.”

“In a roundtable discussion on ABC’s “This Week,” the New York Times columnist said of what recently came out of the president’s deficit commission: “Some years down the pike, we’re going to get the real solution, which is going to be a combination of death panels and sales taxes.”

“Medicare is going to have to decide what it’s going to pay for,” Krugman said. “And at least for starters, it’s going to have to decide which medical procedures are not effective at all and should not be paid for at all. In other words, (the deficit commission) should have endorsed the panel that was part of the health care reform.”

Comments Off on Lewis Black Takes on the Nanny State

“Last night on “The Daily Show,” Lewis Black did his “Back In Black” segment around the latest government regulations including TSA pat-downs, graphic labels on cigarette packaging, and San Francisco’s Happy Meal ban.”

“So let me get this straight,” Black said. “The town that gives away clean syringes to heroin adicts won’t let your kid have a Buzz Lightyear with his Happy Meal because it sends the wrong message?”

Canada, More Pro-Israel than the United States?

Comments Off on Canada, More Pro-Israel than the United States?

“This defense of Israel coming from Harper couldn’t have come at a better time. The U.S government which has historically been Israel’s greatest and most outspoken ally has all but abandoned them morally. The Obama administration has been spiting on Israel’s right to exist through its consistent pandering to the Islamic world, which has always held the dream of seeing Israel stamped out of existence. This coupled with the abusive treatment he has given Israel and its leadership makes it clear that at least for the mean time, the U.S government won’t be arguing for the Israeli side in the world’s stage.”

Forget Halloween: It’s the Greens That Scare Me

“Saw 3D,” a horror film produced by Lionsgate Entertainment was the top movie at the box office this weekend, although I skipped it, as I do most scary movies, psychological thrillers and haunted houses.

What really frightens me — as both an investor and a citizen of the plant — is “eco-horror,” a genre of storytelling now seen in fine art galleries, movie theaters and basic cable. Right now, there’s a prime example on display inside the Museum of London.  There, illustrators Robert Graves and Didier Madoc-Jones have digitally manipulated photos to portray a variety of well-known British settings overrun with environmental or humanitarian disasters.”

2081: A Movie of the Heroic and a Warning to All

2010 October 23

“…everyone is finally equal… The strong wear weights, the beautiful wear masks and the intelligent wear earpieces that fire off loud noises to keep them from taking unfair advantage of their brains. It is a poetic tale of triumph and tragedy about a broken family, a brutal government, and an act of defiance that changes everything.”

2081 is a captivating film based on Kurt Vonnegut’s Harrison Bergeron. This masterpiece couldn’t have come in a better time. The tale is about an America where everyone is finally equal. Where excellence and the exceptional are punished. Where the extraordinary is to be hidden through the full power of the State. Here’s the trailer: read more…

A John Galt Running for Congress: NRB Interviews Republican Candidate for Congress Stephen Bailey

2010 October 18

Stephen Bailey

Stephen Bailey is currently running for congress in the second district of Colorado as the Republican nominee. He has served in the Air Force and was recognized Airman of the Year in 1983. He also has a bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Computer Science from Chapman University. He is a former small business owner and successful businessman. He currently lives in Niwot with his wife and their 3 children. NewsReal Blog interviewed him recently to shed more light on his views.

NRB: First off, what prompted you to run for congress?

Stephen Bailey: I’ve always been interested in politics as an armchair observer and commentator. However, the decision to run began in late 2008 when the TARP bailout legislation was first brought to a vote. I was on a business trip in Europe and celebrated when the bill was defeated. When Congress and President Bush signed the TARP bailout two weeks later, against the wishes of the American public, it initiated the chain of events that led to the creation of the Tea Party movement and my resolve to not allow my country, my freedom and my families freedom to be destroyed. The resolve accelerated over the next year as President Obama and the Democrats rammed one tyrannical bill after another down our throats, engorging themselves and their political cronies in an orgy of spending that is bankrupting America. read more…
