Right to Exist Interviews Rep. Peter Roskam on PA-Hamas Alliance: “The United States Will Not Support Terrorist Organizations’
The past few months have seen unexpected developments in the Middle East, the continuing “Arab Awakening,” Egypt’s slide toward being controlled by the Islamist Muslim Brotherhood, Syria and Libya in revolt; it seemed as if for the first time in recent history the Israeli-Palestinian dispute represented the calmest place in this violence-prone area of the world.
That all changed in early May when the Palestinian Authority, run by the “moderate” terrorists of the Fatah party, agreed to reunite with the more overt terrorists of Hamas who rule over the Gaza Strip.
The mainstream media reports about the May 15 Palestinian violence which accompanied the Nabka Day protests all talked about the desire to establish a Palestinian state within the pre-June 1967 borders. Even “moderate” terrorist PA President Abbas reaffirmed that position.
“A Palestinian state is inevitable, the whole world supports the end of the occupation,” Abbas said, reaffirming the aim to establish a state on the pre-1967 borders.
Of course there are many issues with Abbas’ position, such as the Palestinians stated position that they have no intention of making a real peace but a hudna, a temporary peace that would enable them to rearm, train and finally attack Israel and drive the Jews off “their” land.
Even if the Palestinians were to change their minds about wiping the Jewish State off the map, there would remain another major barrier to Israel reverting to the pre-June 1967 borders….they do not exist!
Hudna is an Arabic term meaning a temporary “truce” or “armistice” as well as “calm” or “quiet”, coming from a verbal root meaning “calm”. It is sometimes translated as “cease-fire”. Hudna has a distinct meaning to Islamic fundamentalists; the prophet Mohammad struck a legendary, ten-year hudna with the Quraysh tribe that controlled Mecca in the seventh century. Over the following two years, Mohammad rearmed and took advantage of a minor Quraysh infraction to break the hudna and launch the full conquest of Mecca, the holiest city in Islam.
In an interview with the MAAN News Agency (an independent Palestinian news service) Hamas party leader Mahmoud Az-Zahhar said that the party was willing to recognize a Palestinian State in some or all of “Palestine” but would never recognize Israel.

Every day there are more stories in the media and Arab protests about Israel trying to “Judaicise” the area around what they call the Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem. I have even read with curiosity how European Foreign Ministers and press reporters with Christian backgrounds describe the site as “what the Jewish people SAY was the location of the Holy Temples.” When those folks go to church on Sunday do they argue with their Priests and Ministers to change the gospels because the man that they believe was the Son of God went to that Temple Mount 3x a year. read more…

Growing up we all believe what we want to. For years my son believed that there were monsters under his bed at night, my daughter believed that a unicorn would show up for her to ride away. Both of them believed in the tooth fairy (there was one of those, but it was just me in a costume). Part of the growing process is that we realize that these are just myths.
Surprisingly there is one childish myth that many otherwise intelligent adults cling on to. That’s the myth that the Fatah party, run by Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, is moderate. People ignore what Abbas’ party says and does so they can believe the unbelievable–that he is a moderate. Sadly, they are just being unreasonable and immature. Let me suggest you are more likely to look up into the winter sky and see a fat guy with a red coat and white beard on a sled being pulled by flying reindeer, than see a truly moderate member of the Fatah party.
Perhaps the most damaging blow to Middle East peace in recent history is the Hamas/Fatah “unity deal” announced by both terrorist parties. Fatah, run by PA President Mahmoud Abbas tries to project a respectable image to the non-Muslim world this leads them to tone down the terrorist activity a bit and even try to negotiate with Israel every once in a while. Peace has never been an objective of Fatah–just the appearance of wanting peace so the terrorist group can remain the favorite-child of liberal governments, including ours.
Hamas throws up no smokescreens about its objectives–a worldwide caliphate and the destruction of Israel as the Jewish state. By all accounts Hamas will be the more powerful force in this arrangement. Almost immediately after the deal was announced, Hamas representatives..
…emphasized that the new unity agreement, reached on Wednesday, did not require them to accept the two-state solution or to engage in peace talks with Israel.
They also stressed that the interim unity government that was expected to be established soon would not conduct peace negotiations with Israel.
Even the “moderate” PA President Abbas admitted that peace was no longer a goal. On May 3rd he said to the the Al-Aharam newspaper:
“There is no need to demand that Hamas recognize Israel. The PA will not request that it do so.”
Why should Abbas demand Hamas recognize Israel as the Jewish homeland when his own Fatah party doesn’t? By any measure, this deal is a danger to peace, the U.S. interests in the area, and our ally Israel.

The objective of Media Matters For America (MMFA) is to tell half-truths, spin, distort and well…let’s face it, they will do anything except deal with the facts in order to try and discredit anyone who disagrees with the Progressive agenda as outlined by their favorite rich guy, George Soros, the “Dude” of “Spooky.” But you have to hand it to them, sometimes they are so creative in their methods.

Looking at the screen shot, one would think that they would present proof that Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Andrew Breitbart are being disingenuous about their “birther” positions. But when you open up to the items inside it becomes reminiscent of that old song from Sesame Street,

Can you tell which thing is not like the others
By the time I finish my song?
In the article teased by the cover story Hannity is mentioned 18x, Limbaugh is mentioned 20x and Andrew Breitbart is mentioned….wait let me count…ah zero times. You have to hand it to Andrew Breitbart; he doesn’t avoid “enemy” territory. The political activist/web entrepreneur/ showman is on tour hawking his new book, Righteous Indignation. Yesterday, the book tour took him to Martin Bashir’s program on MSNBC. But instead of having an opportunity to discuss his book, Breitbart walked into an ambush where the TV host tried to pin false charges of racism on the author.
For those of you who are not familiar with Bashir, he made his name in 2003 with a “news” special called Living with Michael Jackson. After spending eight months as part of Jackson’s entourage, Bashir conducted a series of interviews with the pop singer. The final edit of the interview was widely seen as an example of yellow journalism, deliberately skewed to make the entertainer look like a bad parent and child molester.
It was obvious that Bashir exploited the friendship he developed with the singer to further his own career. Following the broadcast, The New York Times called Bashir’s journalism style “callous self-interest masked as sympathy.” read more…
