A Dog Who Found the Master’s Leg: The 10 Most Braindead Statements In Defense of the 9/11 Mosque

2010 August 27

As the 9/11 Mosque controversy was beginning to heat up the metaphor I conceived of to describe the Left’s predictable response was that of the teenager too scared to go “all the way.” I argued that the Left was “dry humping” Islam.

That comparison seems too charitable. The level of submission now is just too overwhelming. Instead characterizing the Left as a puppy trying to show affection to its master seems more appropriate. The depths of submission to a stronger, more dominant ideology — Islam — presented here is just too stunning.

The Nails-On-A-Chalkboard Narcissism of the Center-Left’s Anti-Anti-Islam Jihad

2010 August 24

I’ve put up with the sound of nails on a chalkboard long enough.

Amidst the debate surrounding Ron Radosh’s Islam post I noticed a familiar screech I’d heard before. In the comments at Roger Kimball’s response to Ron’s post:

17. John Guardiano

Dear Mr. Kimball,

Thanks for correcting the misspelling of my name for the initial two or three times that you reference me. However, for the subsequent and final two times that you reference me, you still have my name misspelled. Can you please fix this read more…

Wage War on Islam if You Care About Muslims

2010 August 23

Dear Ron,

Your piece at Pajamas jumping into the discussion on Islam has the same fatal flaw as the “Center-Right” critics you unfortunately cite. This is 100% incorrect:

“But are they correct when they shift the argument from opposing those who seek a radical Islamist agenda- imposition of Sharia law in the West- from most American Muslims who practice their faith and belief and consider themselves law-abiding patriotic Americans, and who have a strong commitment to this country?”

We anti-jihad activists have not shifted this argument toward Muslims who are patriotic Americans. read more…

Hot Post: Let me Know if You Find BigFoot While You’re Hunting for “Moderate Islam”

2010 August 22

John, please pick me up a filet of fish, fries, and a mocha frappe when you get back from your search for Big Foot and "Moderate Islam."

Editor’s Note: This post was first published on August 16 here.

Yesterday I published a post at NewsReal Blog explaining the anti-Semitism embedded within Islam and the consequences we see today as a result.

John Guardiano submitted a rebuttal. His response in a nutshell: I’m helping the enemy by agreeing that their interpretation with Islam is correct. Instead of telling the truth about Islam — “demonizing” Islam in John’s words — I should be embracing some supposed “moderate Islam.” I should be labeling those who want to kill Jews and impose Sharia on the planet as “misinterpreters” of true Islam.

I decided to reject John’s post as he submitted it and explained my reasoning over the course of several time-consuming emails. John decided to publish this rebuttal at Frum Forum today instead. So now John is basically insisting that I make public my rationale for rejecting the piece. Very well. read more…

World Net Daily’s Managing Editor David Kupelian Offers Additional Facts on Coulter Speech Cancellation

2010 August 20

My friend David Kupelian, managing editor of World Net Daily, contacted me to set me straight about a few of the facts in my post about WND vs Ann Coulter:

A couple specific points:

1, I was directly involved in the painful decision, made on principle, to drop Ann from our lineup. Publicity was not a factor. If anything, I would anticipate it would hurt us, and indeed the blogosphere is currently full of attacks, including yours, on WND. read more…

How David Frum’s Lying Pornographer Alex Knepper is Symbolic of the Blindness and Cowardice of the “Center-Right”

2010 August 20

Does the Right need its own Larry Flynt? Is that what would make David Frum happy?

Frum Forum, the online blog headed by former National Review contributor and self-appointed Conservative Movement reformer David Frum, defines its mission as the “modernization and renewal of the Republican party and the conservative movement.”

Who would have thought that such a “renewal” would include XXX-rated political commentary from one of Frum’s supposed star writers who he has promoted and defended himself?

But that’s exactly what I found last night. Warning: the quote from Frum Forum that follows after the jump is disgusting. But what it ultimately represents is far more troubling. read more…

Christian Radical Joseph Farah Vs Conservative Ann Coulter

2010 August 19

By his own admission, Joseph Farah, the Editor-In-Chief of the allegedly “conservative” news giant World Net Daily, is not a conservative:

I can’t even count how many times I’ve written in books and columns about why I am not a “conservative.”

No matter how many times I do, I am still saddled with the label by friends and adversaries alike.

It seems everyone must be a conservative or a liberal in America today.

Today I write with a new reason: “Conservatives” don’t recognize sin when they see it. Nearly the entire “conservative” establishment, such as it is, fears even mentioning this word or acknowledging its existence. And, I’m afraid, without that recognition, this is a movement that is hopelessly lost.

Thus it makes perfect sense that he’d want to stock his upcoming “Taking America Back” National Conference with others of his ideology — other Christian radicals more interested in puritan morality than defending our political tradition and American values — while excluding conservatives. Hence someone like Ann Coulter couldn’t make the cut — and even worse, had to be exploited for publicity. read more…

Standing up for Freedom: Highlights from Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer’s Speech Last Night in LA

2010 August 17

Last night Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer spoke about their new book The Post-American Presidency at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles.

Stacy McCain of The Other McCain, Brandon Rogers of Capitalism is Freedom and Donald Douglas of American Power were both in attendance. I got a chance to meet and talk with Donald and Brandon but didn’t realize Stacy was there. D’oh!

NRB and Big Hollywood blogger Mark Tapson was present as well — he and I sat together. (We’d also met for lunch earlier yesterday along with NRB Concession Stand editor Chris Yogerst who was visiting.)

Some of the highlights of Pamela and Robert’s speeches and question and answers session: read more…
