You won't be seeing this ad on Seattle buses anytime soon. You won't be seeing anti-Israel ads either.
On Tuesday we announced a new campaign from the Freedom Center: countering a disgusting lie against Israel that was being perpetuated by an obscure leftist group.
An announcement today from Seattle’s King County bus service:
“Metro sells advertising to raise revenues to provide transit service. Metro’s existing policy restricts advertising that can be reasonably foreseen to result in harm to, disruption of, or interference with the transportation system. Given the dramatic escalation of debate in the past few days over these proposed ads, and the submission of inflammatory response ads, there is now an unacceptable risk of harm to or disruption of service to our customers should these ads run.” read more…

My friend and mentor Dr. Jamie Glazov has a new book out, Showdown with Evil: Our Struggle Against Tyranny and Terror which you can purchase here.
The book is a collection of some of the best of Jamie’s interviews that he’s conducted over the years for FrontPage Magazine. I helped Jamie with the project, writing introductions to each section and conducting the interview which concludes the book. To promote Jamie’s new book, we’re printing that interview here. Enjoy.
David Swindle: Dr. Glazov, let’s discuss the themes of this collection and what conclusions we can reach from them.
First, in several interviews in this work you discuss your background as the son of two prominent Soviet dissidents. Can you tell us a bit about how you became politically aware over the course of your childhood and adolescence? Most young people are blissfully ignorant of political matters and the often disturbing realities of the world. Given your family’s history of fighting tyranny and terror, perhaps you did not have such a luxury?
Glazov: Thanks David. Well I am grateful to God I didn’t have this so-called luxury. To say the least, it would be an understatement to say that I never envied a lot of the people I grew up with in the West who walked around without one idea in their head or any yearning for anything. I remember being around certain friends growing up and they would be sitting around aimlessly and complaining that they were “bored.” I can understand being happy or sad, or being elated or depressed, but I could never understand being bored. read more…
The Freedom Center’s New Campaign: Countering an Anti-Semitic Propaganda Assault on Israel in Seattle
The David Horowitz Freedom Center put out this press release today. Above is the ad we’ll be placing on Seattle buses to counter the anti-Semitic ads which were recently purchased.
Radical Propaganda on Our City Streets
Responding to an advertisement on municipal buses in downtown Seattle accusing Israel of war crimes, the David Horowitz Freedom Center today began its own counter campaign to denounce Palestinian War Crimes.
Placed by a pro Palestinian group calling itself the Seattle Mideast Awareness Campaign, the anti Israel ads, designed to fill full panels on the sides of 12 King County Metro buses, show the words “Your Tax Dollars at Work” under the headline “Israeli War Crimes.” King County Metro Transit spokesman Linda Thielke told members of the local press that the ads, scheduled to appear on 12 buses beginning two days after Christmas on the second anniversary of the Gaza War, were within the company’s guidelines which, she claimed, forbid only pornography, alcohol, tobacco and incitements to riot. read more…
On September 5 I published a list post featuring my favorite pieces from my friend, NRB‘s staff artist Bosch Fawstin. Since then the inimitable Bosch has only continued to dazzle, provoke, enrage and inspire with his illustrations. So it only makes sense to do a new list highlighting some of his best pieces that he’s delivered the past few months. My comments are included.
By the way: all of Bosch’s NRB illustrations (the ones with our logo in them) can be used free of charge, without our permission at your own blogs and publications. We’d appreciate if you would link back to us and also Bosch’s blog: http://fawstin.blogspot.com And be sure and visit Bosch’s site if you haven’t already where he has additional illustrations as well as prints, T-shirts, and books for sale.

Lisa De Pasquale is the director of CPAC and a must-read columnist for Human Events. (I also had the pleasure of meeting her recently at Restoration Weekend.) She has compiled a great collection of Christmas gift suggestions for book lovers. She was kind enough to include David Horowitz’s new book Reforming Our Universities, his chronicle of the challenges of the Academic Freedom campaign during the last decade. NewsReal Sunday: What Good is the Bible if you Don’t Believe its Supernatural Events are Historical?
Who’s up for a friendly, Inter-Faith exchange on spirituality on this Sunday morning?
From Walter’s post last night defending his arguments from his great post challenging Bill Maher’s “Religulous”:
Here I respectfully part with Jefferson. If the “magic” of the Bible is removed, it is a story of no significance. If Jesus is not who he says he was, if he is not Emmanuel – God incarnate, if he did not conquer death and rise on the third day, then there is no reason to elevate his philosophy above my own. read more…
