Muslim Men and Non-Muslim Women

2011 March 12

Editor’s Note: This popular post was first published on March 6 here.

When American mother Melissa Bender married Pakistani Mohammad Khan, she brought three children from a previous marriage into the relationship. Today the children are in protective custody after police discovered that her 13 year old daughter, Jessie Bender wasn’t taken away by a predator, but that the predator had been right in her own house.

Mohammad Khan was planning to take Melissa and Jessie to Pakistan, where the 13 year old girl feared she would be forced into an arranged marriage. Instead she bravely went on the run and the police department appears to be doing the right thing. For now. read more…

The Islamic Hijacking of the Internet

2010 December 28

There has been a good deal of talk about Net Neutrality, but the Clinton Administration’s internationalization of ICANN means that there’s a much more serious threat to freedom of speech on the internet than even the FCC. A threat that hardly anyone is talking about.

Here’s a brief excerpt of a much longer piece

10) Further alterations to the geographical makeup of ICANN’s Board of Directors would mean a considerable shift in power towards the Arab League, which would presumably vote as a bloc far more than preexisting Geographic Regions.

12) Should the League of Arab States gain bloc voting power at ICANN, there is every indication that it will seek to replicate its effective takeover of the United Nations General Assembly, likely in conjunction with the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC). read more…

How the Internet Destroyed American Politics

2010 December 10

Two years ago, the road to 2012 seemed like a cakewalk for Obama and an unreachable mountain for the Republicans. The roles haven’t quite reversed yet, but they are evening out. And like in the old Hope-Crosby  movies like “Road to Morocco” or “Road to Singapore”, the road to 2012 has turned into an absurdist journey. Not a traditional political journey, but a silly parody of it with very serious stakes.

American politics has changed so dramatically over the last several years that anyone who had been in a coma  would have trouble adjusting to this new world, in which the occupant of the Oval Office spends half his time abroad and the other half appearing on TV shows, and his likely opponent is doing her press releases via Facebook and has her own TV show. Most of the old taboos have been broken. From the dignity of the office to foreign money to the press corps, very little remains intact anymore. And a lot of this is collateral damage from the impact of the internet on our political institutions.

The internet has done two things. First, it undermined the existing system by creating faster and cheaper communication and organizational alternatives. Had the institutions adapted to it, the change would have been much less drastic. But that’s not what happened. The media is the most obvious casualty of that failure to adapt, but the political institutions are next. Obama vs Palin is not a matchup that could have existed in the pre-internet America. But the internet has made grassroots organizing easier, and is tearing down the wall between the inner and outer circles of political parties. Obama and Palin are both beneficiaries of that.

Obama’s Great Airwave Robbery

2010 December 7

FCC Commissioner Michael Copps has been making noises again about the inadequacies of American Journalism, and the need for a “public value test” to save it from “its hour of grave peril.” This follows the same line taken by self-appointed critics of cable news like Jon Stewart. But if Stewart mocks cable news, Copps is playing with fire by hinting at using government regulation to control the content of what news organizations broadcast.

It is likely that over the next ten years, the network news will cease to exist entirely. CNN is going through the stages of a prolonged death spiral. Local affiliates are cutting back on TV news. Copps’ public comments on the BBC indicate that he will pressure television stations to run news programs. According to Copps, the stations use airwaves that belong to the American people and are therefore obligated to serve the public interest.

But the television stations are already serving the interests of the American people by broadcasting the programming that they want to see. The reason that television stations are cutting back on the news, is because it’s unprofitable. If the American people really wanted their airwaves to be used for more news, then that wouldn’t be the case. In a free country, the public’s interest determines what they want to see. But in a nanny state, bureaucrats like Copps determine what is in the public’s interest.

And how does he make that determination?

Sean Penn’s Unfair Game

Sean Penn and Saddam

Imagine North Korean dictator Kim Jong Il financing an Anti-American movie to be released in thousands of theaters. Well you don’t need to imagine it anymore, because with “Fair Game,” we have the next best thing. “Fair Game” is an Anti-American movie financed by Imagenation Abu Dhabi, a company owned by the UAE royal family, and the chief difference between North Korea and the UAE is better PR. Both are brutal dictatorships ruled over by vicious little men which built ridiculous resorts and gargantuan projects for their own self-glorification. But unlike North Korea, the UAE has managed to get gullible Westerners to show up to their Dubai slave paradise without asking any inconvenient questions.

When the US contemplated taking out Bin Laden in 1999, two years before the September 11 attacks, they were unable to do so, because Uncle Osama was passing the time with UAE royals. Now Imagenation Abu Dhabi, a company run by UAE royals, is funding Anti-American movies like “Amreeka,” “My Name is Khan” and “Fair Game.” “Amreeka” and “My Name is Khan” focus on the mistreatment of Muslims by America after 9/11. “Fair Game,” on the other cleverly moves the Muslims to the background, and instead focuses on more photogenic versions of leftist frauds Joseph Wilson and Valerie Plame.

“Fair Game” is the ugly shotgun marriage between leftists and Islamists, with both sides working together to undermine and smear America. It features the likes of Sean Penn, who visited Iraq before the war to defend Saddam Hussein‘s regime. read more…

Why is Obama Distorting Islam?

2010 November 9

Islam obama

Islam's Hero to the Rescue

“All of us recognize that this great religion (Islam), in the hands of a few extremists, has been distorted.”

Barack Hussein Obama

“Those who know nothing of Islam pretend that Islam counsels against war. Those [who say this] are witless. Islam says: Kill all the unbelievers just as they would kill you all!”

Ayatollah Khomeini

While we now know that a young Obama rebelled against his mother and attended Koran classes, he clearly didn’t attend nearly enough of them. Or the Harvard genius is back to playing dumb.

According to Obama, and so much of the political establishment, the Koran is being distorted by a “few extremists” somewhere who are trying to convince the billion peaceful Muslims, that it actually promotes violence. But first a few obvious questions. read more…

5 Stages of the Left’s Grief for Obama

2010 October 28

Obama's Last Stand

(Crossposted from Sultan Knish)

There are five stages in the grieving process from Denial to Acceptance. American liberals are now moving through their own five stages of dealing with the decline and fall of the myth of Obama. The last time they had invested this much in a politician was the Kennedy Administration, yet there is no assassin’s bullet to explain the fall of Camelot for them here. Instead they have to come to terms with the reality of Obama’s failure.

And this is what their five stages look like. read more…
