Hot Post:There’s Arrogance, Then There’s Obama

2010 November 13

Editor’s Note: This popular post was first published on November 8 here.

“I never met in my life such an arrogant man,” says the arrogant NY Mayor Michael Bloomberg about Barack Obama to Rupert Murdoch. Obama is the most glorified community organizer in history, with no accomplishments to his name outside of an unlikely rise to the highest office in the world. Murdoch added that President Obama “might make great speeches but doesn’t get things done and doesn’t listen to anybody.” His arrogance will not allow any rational ideas to penetrate his policies, as we’ve seen in his post-election comments where he seems determined to continue the illusion that he knows what is best for America.

Chuck (Molly) Norris

2010 September 22

I share Mark Steyn’s thoughts on Molly Norris, The Seattle Times cartoonist who started “Everybody Draw Mohammad Day”, and then abandoned it at the first sign of trouble. She understood for a brief moment that we must draw the line against this enemy, but now, as one of her former colleagues puts it, “there is no more Molly.”

Field of Nightmares

2010 September 9

The imam behind the proposed Ground Zero Mosque had a not so veiled threat for those against the mosque. I quote:

“The headlines in the Muslim world will be that Islam is under attack,”

“…if you don’t do this right, anger will explode in the Muslim world,” …. predicting that the reaction could be more furious than the eruption of violence following the 2005 publication of Danish cartoons….

The Beslan Massacre

2010 September 5

It’s been six years since the Beslan Massacre – what some have referred to as Russia’s 9/11 – where over 1,000 men, women and children were taken hostage at a school for three days. In the end, nearly 400 of them were murdered, 156 of whom were children. The particular details of this atrocity have the power to silence me, so I’m going to step aside and make way for the words of once innocent children who have forever been scarred by Islam’s jihad.

For more, I refer you to this harrowing documentary.

Ayn Rand, Prophet

2010 September 2

Ayn Rand began writing her magnum opus, ATLAS SHRUGGED, on September 2, 1946. September 2 is the day of the year on which the story opens, and a date which is noted several times throughout the novel. This is why I chose today to commemorate Rand’s work, which has now been shown, unfortunately, to have been more prophetic than she would have liked. The reason she was so prophetic was because she understood the power of ideas to influence society for the better — or for the worse. Wrote Rand, in her essay, “Is Atlas Shrugging?” from her book, CAPITALISM: THE UNKNOWN IDEAL:

“There is only one power that determines the course of history, just as it determines the course of every individual life: the power of man’s rational faculty—the power of ideas. If you know a man’s convictions, you can predict his actions. If you understand the dominant philosophy of a society, you can predict its course. But convictions and philosophy are matters open to man’s choice.

There is no fatalistic, predetermined historical necessity. Atlas Shrugged is not a prophecy of our unavoidable destruction, but a manifesto of our power to avoid it, if we choose to change our course.

It is the philosophy of the mysticism-altruism-collectivism axis that has brought us to our present state and is carrying us toward a finale such as that of the society presented in Atlas Shrugged. It is only the philosophy of the reason-individualism-capitalism axis that can save us….”

Earth Certificate

2010 August 30

It’s not only “birthers” who bring up Barack Hussein Obama’s birth certificate these days, Obama himself did so yesterday, in order to lump in the 24% of Americans who think Obama is a Muslim with the “birthers” movement, in what I think could be the first labeling of the “faithers” movement. It was in answer to a question by Brian Williams of NBC “News” yesterday, about Americans’ confusion regarding Obama’s faith. The Drudge Report thought Obama’s strange comment, quoted in my graphic, was worth placing atop his page yesterday.

And so given that Barack Obama has referred to himself as a citizen of the world, given that he’s made it clear that he’s a one worlder and an environmentalist, and since it can be proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that Barack Hussein Obama was in fact born on earth, then here’s my answer to his problems.
