For too long we have been lied to about the Left in America. We have been told that leftists are peaceful, open-minded, mainstream and tolerant. We have repeatedly been told that it is conservatives who are mean-spirited, violent, aggressive and close-minded. Progressives would have us believe that it is the political Right that harbors America’s radicals, crazies and extremists.
Conservatives have been lambasted for fostering a climate of hate and violence that inevitably led to the tragic shooting of Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords. We were told by the mainstream media and other progressive elites that words have consequences, and that conservative icons such as Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck have blood on their hands. Referring to the shooting, Jane Fonda said on her Twitter account that Glenn beck was “guilty,” and that Sarah Palin and the Tea Party were “responsible” for this horrible crime.
After the shooting, leftist New York Times columnist Paul Krugman wrote:
You know that Republicans will yell about the evils of partisanship whenever anyone tries to make a connection between the rhetoric of Beck, Limbaugh, etc. and the violence I fear we’re going to see in the months and years ahead. But violent acts are what happen when you create a climate of hate. And it’s long past time for the GOP’s leaders to take a stand against the hate-mongers.
Calls for “a new civil tone” could be heard everywhere. Disgraced überleftist television pundit Keith Olbermann called on Bill O’Reilly and Glenn Beck to apologize for the harm they had caused to the republic.
However, Americans with common sense know that this is a giant fraud, as progressives are much more mean-spirited, intolerant and aggressive than conservatives. It is also obvious, that the great majority of fringe elements within American politics reside on the left side of the political spectrum. And if anyone is creating an environment of hate and intolerance in America, it is those on the Left.
Conservative filmmaker Christian Hartstock recently filmed leftwing protesters at a Koch Brothers conference calling for Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas to be “put back in the fields.” We have also recently witnessed the aggressive and “uncivil” nature of the Public Sector Unions and their cronies during the last month.
This last Saturday I went to an anti-war rally in Hollywood, California and witnessed first-hand the peaceful, kind-hearted, clear-thinking and tolerant left at work.
