NPR’s Ron Schiller was caught red-handed as an anti-Zionist and anti-Semite, and NPR was exposed as an organization that will grovel for money, even Muslim Brotherhood blood money. But according to Salon‘s Alex Pareene, that doesn’t make NPR or Ron Schiller Jew-haters. Schiller was tricked into revealing his leftist anti-Semitic/pro-Palestinian views on hidden camera by that nasty conservative activist James O’Keefe. And Pareene can’t understand why the media is beating up on Schiller when the real bigot is Juan Williams.
Pareene is angry Williams told Fox News’ Sean Hannity what he thinks about Schiller’s remarks and NPR’s actions. Now Pareene is slamming Williams:
One man who’s altogether thrilled about this is former NPR commentator Juan Williams, who was fired for saying something bigoted into a non-hidden camera and declining to apologize for it. That firing was handled poorly as well—Williams was on notice for a number of stupid statements and simply letting his contract expire would’ve saved everyone a culture war battle—but Williams landed comfortably on a pile of Rupert Murdoch’s money at Fox News, where he is an official Fox Liberal with experience in the heart of the vast liberal media conspiracy.
Ron Schiller’s taped comments proved NPR will entertain donations from terrorists. But that doesn’t matter to Alex Pareene. What angers him is that Williams’ spoke out against NPR and Schiller’s vile actions. Williams’ offense is siding with conservatives against NPR, as he did in these remarks:
These people are so rude and condescending and they say that people like me are bigots because I tell you what I feel. These folks are not only attacking the Tea Party as anti- intellectual and racist and bias. They attack anybody that disagrees with their point of view, this elitist, this NPR point of view but the rest of us are bunch of dummies and a bunch of robs they were from that country, we don’t understand what’s going on. And he thinks that we lack education and only his group up there, the executive floor of NPR really understands.
In Pareene’s mind, it’s Juan Williams’ fault O’Keefe went after NPR. If Williams had kept his mouth shut, never expressing honest fears about “see[ing] people who are in Muslim garb…[who]… are identifying themselves first and foremost as Muslims” after 9/11, Williams would never have been fired and NPR could continue disgracefully as the official National Palestinian Radio outlet.
This is how the Left thinks and operates. They harbor anti-Semitism while siding with the enemy attacking America. But heaven forbid they get caught for their progressive beliefs and tactics, that’s when the Left points fingers, blaming everyone else.
Pareene laments that Schiller, a great guy “who hates Tea Party bigots,” is barred from his new job at the Aspen Institute. Schiller is “Ruined for the crime of having liberal personal opinions!”
You mean the way Juan Williams was abruptly fired and barred from NPR for expressing his personal opinions?
