Indeed, for years the left has refused to acknowledge that there’s an alternative perspective in which to view the world, despite the fact that most people between New York and CA (where most of the media elite reside) think differently than they do. To those in power, conservative Americans need to be enlightened to the inner workings of the so-called liberal mind.

The indoctrination begins in college. College professors are overwhelmingly liberal, as a recent study by the Center for Responsive Politics proves. Even the New York Times concedes on this front.

College educators — or at least those involved enough in political campaigns to donate — are indeed generally liberal, writes Catherine Rampell.

After college, the left’s indoctrination continues. Those who watch prime time television, read women’s magazines (or even Time, Newsweek, or People), and get their news from one of the three top networks are routinely barraged with a liberal view of the world. Americans can’t escape leftist indoctrination – it’s everywhere.

To a liberal, this all smacks of paranoia. It is not paranoia. The reason FOX News, talk radio, and the Internet have become vital to people’s lives is because Americans have nowhere else to go to get an alternative viewpoint and to get the kind of the kind of information the mainstream media won’t report.

That’s not conservative bias. That’s called evening the score.

Suzanne Venker is co-author of the forthcoming book The Flipside of Feminism: What Conservative Women Know – and Men Can’t Say (WND Books). Her website is www.suzannevenker.com.
