In normal times, over-the-top Zionism of the Horowitz variety is dangerous. Its main role is to put opponents of Israeli crimes on the defensive, and secondarily, it makes left-Zios like Chomsky and his followers look like they are doing something against apartheid. Horowitz and co. call them 'self-hating Jews', and this makes it appear that they are making sacrifices. The danger in the current time is this - this nonsense about the left supporting the 'terrorist flotilla' and so on means they won't take any notice of reasonable arguments about their underestimation of the error of downplaying differences with Islamic fundamentalism, like in Iran in 1979.

What I wonder are the rumblings I hear about various administrative cronies being overseas and/or otherwise stirring up revolution in these hot spots. Am I so paranoid? Could the current US administration/ Axlerod, Dorn,Ayers be behind some of this?

If they vote in a new government guess who will win........A military strong man kept
the Muslim Brotherhood at bay, in jail or in the next world for many years but now?
Why would Mubarak ease up and allow the demonstrations where as in the past he
would have stomped them out with and iron boot. Age, age and weariness take their
toll, his family has left and what does he care now except for his own hide, his career
can not be passed on, it will be taken over and the question is who has the gravitas?
For our benefit we must hope and pray the peaceful muslims (no extremeists here,
the MSM has said so) are put in a vice that at least gives them human respect and
the ability for the aspirations of a decent life. The question comes up, just how in the
name of all that is holy is that possible under leftist or Islamist rule........bad wind
blowing...................................................................................................................William

The US faces a choice-either a dictator or Islam. I'll take the dictator. And we were wrong to topple S Hussein.....it only accomplished the transplanting of Islamists to Iraq. Neither Obama, Bush nor Rice understand that Islam and democracy are incompatible, period.

With all the news sources reporting on the 'huge illiteracy problem' in Egypt, how in heck are so many able to communicate on the net?

The question posed by Mr. Horowitz is on point. Who indeed will fill the void?

I'm not being insensitive to the plight of the Egyptian people. I feel for them. Circumstances like this kill the soul, and I wouldn't wish it upon anyone. But sometimes even a common and reasonable reaction by the people can be used to manipulate international opinion and facilitate ulterior motive (i.e. Jacobin tactics). Oh how they love to use chaos to install a new order.
