Did you know that a senior ACORN executive was recently convicted and sentenced in Las Vegas for conspiracy to commit voter fraud? Well, that’s because media outlets ignored it because they were far more interested in doing everything in their power to slime Sarah Palin. Palin’s purely speculative connection to the Arizona shooter is apparently far more important than the sanctity of the ballot box.

As I wrote in The Daily Caller, the ACORN operative, Amy Adele Busefink, got a two-year suspended sentence, $4,000 in fines, and a requirement to perform 100 hours of community service. Prosecutors had suggested a fine of merely $1,000. Voter fraud, often called electoral fraud, is a blanket term encompassing a host of election-related improprieties.

Busefink played a role in an illegal scheme called “Blackjack” or “21+.” It involved paying voter registration cash bonuses if they exceeded the daily quota of 20 registration packages.

Like all ACORN charlatans, Busefink has long been involved in ACORN’s corrupt activities. Even though she was still under indictment in Nevada, she spearheaded last year’s national voter drive for Project Vote, President Obama’s employer in 1992. Project Vote and ACORN are joined at the hip and have been for decades. Project Vote continues to this very day operating out of ACORN’s offices in the nation’s capital.

Busefink also led ACORN’s fraud-ridden 2008 voter registration campaign. In that drive, officials threw out a shocking 400,000 bogus registrations.

Yet ACORN kept Busefink in a key position. That tells you all you need to know about ACORN. The group doesn’t care about voter fraud.

In fact, ACORN encourages it.
