However what good would the praise of the likes of Sean Penn, "Hanoi" Jane Fonda, George Clooney, and Joy Behar be worth? I agree with illiam that the greatest praise would be a thank you from grateful Americans.

Kazan may feel insulted to be praised by its present denizens who
are anti-American. It should be that he receives honor from those who
recognize his contribution to America and entertainment in such a way
as to have true recognition and meaning. A thank you from grateful and
honest citizens would be much more meaningful to him, that he stayed
true to his inner convictions and self honor is high praise indeed….William
