Now there is a headline you won’t see in the lamestream media, blogs on the left or MSNBC.
Instead, Chris Matthews is sure that a guy whose favorite book was the Communist Manifesto was inspired by… Sharron Angle. More on that, later.
Also basically unmentioned is the name of Federal Judge John Roll who was killed in the attack. Judge Roll was appointed to the bench by George H.W. Bush. I had to Google search today to remind myself of his name, to write this. (The Los Angeles Times merely lumped him with “and killed six bystanders…)
And while Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords deserves all of our sympathy and prayers, it’s hard to avoid the notion that the fact that making her the primary victim fits the media narrative best– a shot Democrat would most likely be shot by a right-winger, right?
Nothing changes in 5 decades. That was the storyline the media put out in the vaunted days of Walter Cronkite after the JFK assassination– until, oops, that guy was a communist, too.
So, how about a word for the judge who was killed at the Tuscon Safeway this weekend?
From the Washington Times:
Judge Roll, 63, was appointed to the federal bench in 1991 by President George H.W. Bush. Judge Roll previously served as a state trial judge and as a judge on the midlevel Arizona Court of Appeals. He previously worked as a county and state prosecutor.
“Judge Roll was a widely respected jurist, a strong and able leader of his court, and a kind, courteous and sincere gentleman,” said Chief Judge Alex Kozinski of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, the federal circuit that includes Arizona. “He worked tirelessly to improve the delivery of justice to the people of Arizona.”
But Judge Roll barely gets a nod in liberal coverage of the event– even though he ruled that illegal aliens had the right to sue Arizona ranchers trying to protect their property.
On Hardball tonight, Chris Matthews was sure that Sharron Angle and Sarah Palin were ultimately responsible for the “targeting” of Congresswoman Giffords. The Tea Party did not go unmentioned for any 5 minute segment of the show. I never heard the word Communist mentioned.
And it probably shouldn’t be. But the scrambling of the Left to not let this crisis go to waste and smear their political opponents is disgusting and far worse than anything they falsely accuse their opponents of. Loughner is a garden variety violent freak of the kind who occasionally decided today is the day they will go out in a blaze of inglory.
Taking a page from The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, the left-media machine is scrambling to be first to imprint the legend– before the facts get in the way, even it it means ignoring the dead.
