And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse. (Malachi 4:6) We should also add "mothers" in there. We can only pray that somehow God turns their hearts to their children.

- Think about it. If they already have the cervix dilated, what's so hard about giving a shot to the fetus? They sure as heck can get hold of a leg or an arm without any trouble!
- Here's a source you can check out: http://www.nrlc.org/Factsheets/FS03_AbortionInThe… (Guttmacher Institute in red on this chart is the research arm of Planned Parenthood, so probably reliable in your eyes.) It states that abortion is declining in this country, but you can see that in the last 34 years (and now 38 since this chart) there have been between 700K and 1.8M per year, so you can do the math. They've got all the numbers printed out for you. Pretty darn close to the original number stated! Where is your reliable source for your non-existent numbers?
And as for the lie about federal funds, you must be listening to MSNBC! If there are no federal dollars being spent on abortions, then why did the house just vote to defund it in DC? Hmmmm. Guess our legislators were misinformed about that.
Obamacare is very real and it's called The Affordable Care Act–ever heard of it? It also contains funds for abortion–if not, why are several states enacting laws that will prevent those dollars being spent on abortion in their states? More misinformation? Look beyond the soundbites you're being stuffed with and find the truth about what's being done to you by your government.
- The fetus is akin to a tapeworm? That's a well-worn comparison that is so utterly ridiculous that it hardly requires an answer. If you let the baby go to term would you birth a tapeworm? No, it would be a human being that would have your dna imprint, while also having its own unique dna. It would look like you. It would need nourishment from your body (milk) and caring from your body (holding, washing, dressing, loving) for a very long time, in fact one could conceivably say for the rest of your life you would probably be providing sustenance of some sort and comfort. At no time is this child a parasite like a tapeworm, which is not only of your dna or type, but is harmful to your body and sucks the life out of it. You have a right to kill a tapeworm that is killing you, but you should have no right to kill another person because that person is in your womb (99% because you were too careless and selfish to prevent her being there.)
Second, so because we feel pain throughout our lives the pain of the unborn being ripped limb from limb for approximately 20 minutes is acceptable to you? Not to me. And your own child, at that! When did you ever feel that kind of pain–the kind where your arm is ripped off your body or your leg? When did your own mother inflict that kind of pain on you for no reason other than she had to feed you and take care of you?
Third: "and abortion is a well operated surgical procedure. And it helps thousands of people everyday." Abortion kills helpless infants and also their mothers. See the grisly info coming out of Philadelphia. 50 million….MILLION babies have died since Roe v Wade was enacted. More than all the soldiers in all the wars we've ever fought in the history of our nation. 1/3 of all our babies have been killed in this inhumane way. 1/3! It's appalling. We're killing our future.
Fourth: how to give anesthetic to something so small? easy, with a syringe. They do intrauterine operations on fetus's all the time and they give the baby anesthesia for it. But the best thing would be to let the baby grow in the uterus till she can survive on her own, have the baby and give her to someone who will love her. That's the truly humane thing to do!
- lol!
- Dear John, I don't think you realize how fallible your arguments are. Let's start with "no program to adequately care for abandoned/unwanted/neglected children". This is completely untrue. There are so many families wanting to adopt babies, even sick ones, that they must go to other countries to do so! Our social services are woefully lacking in common sense, thereby trapping the older children by insisting they remain available to return to undeserving parents if and when they ever shape up. That can be changed. But are you suggesting that killing them by torturing them is a better option for them? I just can't see how that's better!
Next: "if the prognosis for the child is an extremely short, painful life, should not the mother have the option of protecting her child?" Sooo, better again to kill the child in a painful way (all abortion is painful to the innocent baby). You consider that "protection"? I see a fault in that.
Then: "a victim of rape? Should she be forced to carry the fetus to term?" That's a tough one for many. I look at it this way: should the innocent child be painfully killed for the sins of its father? Would we do that to a living child if his father was a rapist? Of course not….but the baby in the womb IS a living child! If the life of the mother is actually at risk (and these are extremely rare cases) then she should be allowed to terminate the pregnancy, in my opinion, especially if she has other children to care for. For myself though, I would trust God to bring us both through it. I've seen many a miracle that has brought the doctor's prognostication to naught.
As for the government getting involved, it is necessary for the very same reason we have laws against murdering anyone. There must be a consequence for the taking of innocent life, whether that life be in the womb or on the street.
