Pathologically Dishonest Media Matters Names Sarah Palin 2010 “Misinformer of the Year” Only Because They Didn’t Want to Pick Glenn Beck Two Years in a Row

The merry jokesters at the George Soros-funded gossip site Media Matters for America think they’re soooo funny. They’ve given this year’s Misinformer of the Year “award” to former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin. The idea behind this “award” is to mock the recipient but in reality it offers an opportunity to conservatives to mock those bestowing it. It tells us more about the extreme left-wing views of Media Matters and its CEO and founder, confessed liar and and supremely self-important hired gun David Brock, than about Palin herself.

Media Matters is so crazily far to the left that in its eyes even liberal journalists are sometimes viewed as ideological sellouts who need to be hounded into submission. Past recipients of the Misinformer of the Year award include ABC News (!!!) and former Tip O’Neill aide Chris Matthews who is on record saying he admired communist sympathizer Saul Alinsky. Matthews is so far out he has called Alinsky “one of our heroes from the past, from the Sixties,” and added, “I always try to remind myself of Saul Alinsky when I get confused.” Yet Media Matters launched a jihad against Matthews.

But with the new Palin “award,” which Media Matters is alternately referring to as the Glenn Beck Honorary Award for Excellence in Misinformation, comes a video highlighting all the silly things Palin has supposedly said. (Hey, wasn’t Beck the 2009 “winner”?)  There’s nothing particularly silly on the video. In fact, it’s not even funny. Not a single guffaw-worthy moment is to be found in the video. It is the product of the humorless socialist propagandists of Media Matters.

According to the writeup at the Media Matters website, Palin is Public Enemy Number One because she likes Glenn Beck and appears on his show, won’t follow David Brock’s stupid and self-serving advice, and because she likes Glenn Beck.

Oh, did I say that already? I must have been confused because the bulk of the points in the writeup are attacking both Palin and Beck. Come to think of it, the hateful leftist screed is much more focused on Beck than on Palin.

The budding young fascists at Media Matters also couldn’t resist taking a jab at Beck for his ongoing efforts to expose the dangerous, anti-American radicalism of the Tides Foundation.

The unethical hacks at Media Matters never seem to get around, however, to disclosing that Media Matters is on the Tides Foundation payroll. Tides has given $3,065,197 to Media Matters (and its affiliate, Media Matters Action Network) since 2003, according to philanthropy databases.

With Media Matters, pay-to-play is the name of the game.

Anyway, this kind of condescending mockery from Brock and friends is all part of the Saul Alinsky playbook. Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon, said the father of modern community organizing. Alinsky’s fifth rule of “power tactics” stipulates that ridicule “is almost impossible to counterattack.”

We’ll see about that.
