Brings back fond memories and yes "Firing Line" was the highlight of the
week. Bill had many friends in the NYPD as did his brother James. Life

In my Father's house we dare not drop a pin when Bill Buckley was speaking on the television. To see him leaned back in that chair brings back many memories. He is still with us in spirit. He is greatly missed.

Mr. Horowitz, I am just beginning to study the history of conservatism and the “magic” of Buckley. As I read your letter to him, a question came to mind. Having known Mr. Buckley, I wonder if you could comment on what you believe would have been his opinion of the tea party movement?

What a great letter.

WFB had an unbelievable impact on our 20th century and beyond.

It was from watching his "Firing Line" on lazy Sunday afternoons that I began to awaken politically from a default lackadaisical liberal outlook.

He made it sexy to be something other than a liberal……whose very nature is dependent on a show of "feelings" instead of substance.

WFB had such wit and could effortlessly put the world into words, sending the most seasoned wordsmith running for a thesaurus.

I simply adored him!
