Johsua, it is man's way of trying to "make peace" with an enemy who does not want to make peace, either politically, religiously or otherwise. These "peacemakers" are only making themselves appear weak and their religion false to the "jehadist" who sincerely believe they are doing God a favor by slaying the infidels of whom the peacemakers are among the main ones in their eyes. It is like a blind man trying to lead a sighted man through a dark place…still, neither of them can see.

It is not within mankind to be rehabilitated through the work of man or "social justice" programs but by God Himself, through the "weakness of God" and the preaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We are to, according to the prayer of Jesus in John 17, believe His disciples teachings and carry on their work of taking the Gospel into all the world, teaching them to obey the things He taught them. These things were not of a political or social nature…these things were totally of the Spirit and the transformation of the hearts of man (men and women, boys and girls). In doing this, the outcome would be a community of people loving God and loving their neighbor as themselves. It will not be accomplised politically or socially by the whiles of man (meaning those who seek their own glory), through politics or the institutions of man however "socially just" they may think they are. God's Way is spiritual and thorough, man's way is only skin deep.

"Social Justice" is man seeking his own glory where the preaching of the Gospel is seeking to Glorify God alone. Whatever "good works" we do should be from a transformed heart and mind and guided by the Holy Spirit NOT a political endeavor to accomplish the foolish goal of "rehabilitating" people or governments.

Jesus was about changing the hearts and souls of man from flesh and blood to spiritually ONE with God through the atoning death of Jesus, and our eternal salvation through His resurrection, NOT "social justice".

In a sense, Catholics are a microcosm. Their Leftists are generally liberals and radicals who are against abortion and occasionally go to Mass (although there are exceptions). The kind of multicultural drivel quoted here can be found in National Catholic Reporter, America, Commonweal and other Catholic liberal fora. It can be exchanged, mutatis mutandis, with articles in Jewish, Protestant and other religions' publications. Jihad is the struggle against sin, the Islamists are a tiny minority, Islam is a religion of peace…and so on.

The main impetus for left-wing Catholics is "social justice." Jesus was a liberal Democrat who taught us to redistribute income, etc. Jihad is a distraction, really, so they don't actually think things through. The results of this attitude can be seen in the Obama Administration. And yes, they all voted for him, like many other uninformed Catholics. But we're learning. Catholics are ignorant but not stupid, and ignorance has a remedy.

Stockholm's syndrome. It is the only explanation I have seen, short of appeals to spiritual forces, that explains this paradox. But it isn't unique to the religious scene. Examples abound in politics when people use free speech to consistently condemn the very people fighting the hardest to preserve it and help extend it to others.

Quite so. The core doctrines of Islam stand diametrically opposed to Christianity. It's worth mentioning too that since Islam claims that Mohammad was the 'final prophet' they can have no truck with Mormonism. For if Mohammad was the final prophet, then Joseph Smith could not have been one. Islam then, by its very nature, denies that Mormonism can ever exist. I wonder what Mitt Romney has to say about that.

Although I'm not a Christian, I am really bothered when Christians, of any denomination, praise Islamists. It's impossible not to know how Christians are treated by Islamists in Islamic Countries.

There's something deeply evil about supporting your own destroyers. I just cant figure out why they're doing it.
