23-year old Virginian, Casey Bohr, most likely knew nothing about leftist organizations like the Mexican American Legal Defense Fund(MALDEF) who are hell- bent on destroying U.S. sovereignty by pushing their open borders agenda.
He and his mom were just driving home on East Patrick Henry Boulevard outside of Richmond, Virginia Friday evening when another car sideswiped his vehicle killing him and injuring his mother. Driving drunk with a suspended license, 39-year old Feliciano Suarez confessed to police that he was in the country illegally. Three years ago, under the alias Fernando Ruiz, Suarez was arrested on the same road for driving under the influence.
Casey’s tragic and premature death comes after another higher-profile killing of a Benedictine nun on August 1 in Northern Virginia. The death of Sister Denise Mosier sparked a national debate on the already volatile issue of racial profiling and the Arizona immmigration law SB 1070. MALDEF and other organizations targeted SB1070 with their predictable claims that illegal aliens are the true victims, not Americans.
“Today, the three most experienced immigrants’ and civil rights legal organizations nationwide – MALDEF, ACLU and NILC – announce their partnership, together with local Arizona-based counsel, to challenge SB1070 in court,” stated MALDEF President and General Counsel Thomas A. Saenz
If this law were implemented, citizens would effectively have to carry ‘their papers’ at all times to avoid arrest. It is a low point in modern America when a state law requires police to demand documents from people on the street.”
This unconstitutional law sends a strong message to all immigrants to have no contact with any law enforcement officer. The inevitable result is not only to make immigrants more vulnerable to crime and exploitation, but also to make the entire community less safe, by aggressively discouraging witnesses and victims from reporting crimes.”[Linton Joaquin National Imigration Law Center NILC]
Leftists get away with this inversion of truth because they have been at it for a long time. The federal lack of oversight that resulted in these two deaths and many more nationwide is directly related to decades of legal blackmail by organizations like MALDEF and NILC.
A FrontPage Magazine article from 2004 outlines the last 40 years of legal maneuverings and political correctness that have undermined the rule of law and ushered in millions of illegal immigrants. In the foreword to “The Open Borders Lobby and the Nation’s Security After 9/11″ David Horowitz states:
America’s borders have been under assault for forty years with consequences that are measurable and disturbing. The assault has been led by an open borders lobby that is sophisticated and powerful.
Casey Bohr’s friends, who describe him as “a happy, athletic man,” are not focusing on a leftist crusade to eliminate the idea of geographical boundaries altogether. They’re overcome with grief.
As for the general public, Casey could have died as easily from an American drunk driver. But he didn’t. He died at the hands of someone who should never have been in this country in the first place; one of the “disturbing” and deadly consequences of a country without borders.
