Is it heroic for a doctor to kill an 8 month old unborn baby like this one?

The Huffington Post is now in the business of promoting late-term abortions and recruiting doctors to do them.  I knew the site was part of the progressive Left, but I did not know they would get into raising money to promote what most Americans find reprehensible.  Hopefully the article is an anomaly and not a new trend for Huffpo.

Huffpo published an article by Catherine Epstein this morning called, “Late-Term Abortion: Filmmakers Seek to Boost Understanding.”  The piece is basically an advertisement and promotion of a documentary film that has yet to be finished.  The movie seeks to make heroes out of two late-term abortion doctors.  The  problem is they are out of money, so Huffpo is offering readers a chance to contribute and get in on helping to make the disturbing film.  The article actually ends with promoting the contribution campaign with links and suggesting the reader buy buttons and condom bouquets to help the cause.

Why exactly is providing late-term abortions heroic?  Late-term abortions are usually defined as abortions starting anywhere from 16-20 weeks and beyond.  They are despised by the vast majority of Americans since the baby has become so developed by those stages and in later stages of abortions, the baby is often even viable.  If you want to see a video that shows baby development then watch the video below.  The video also explains (using simple and basic terminology) how abortions are done at various stages of development.  The options for late-term abortions are not exactly heroic.

Here are basic descriptions of what these “heroic doctors” are doing to unborn babies in later stages:

These days the majority of late-term elective abortions are done by D&E which stands for Dilation and Evacuation.  The doctor will dilate the cervix, insert a cutting tool to cut the baby into pieces and then extract the child (it is not too hard to extract the whole baby at this point).  I will not show you any images of what this looks like, but I’d encourage you to look at some before you decide to support the practice.

There are other more extreme options of late-term abortions involving some form of induced labor.  Of course there is also partial-birth abortion, which is supposed to be illegal in this country, so I won’t describe the disturbing practice here.

Most people cringe at hearing what actually takes place during these late-term abortions.  Of course, the Huffington Post doesn’t mention one word of what happens to the fetus in such abortions.  Instead the blog makes martyrs out of the few doctors doing these procedures and tries to promote more doctors joining the lucrative business of abortion.

“At the ages of 68 and 72, respectively, Dr. Carhart and Dr. Hern represent what could be… the end of an era. (The filmmakers) hope the film will inspire future doctors to pursue reproductive health, and plan to screen it for medical students. Shane has also tried proselytizing” (more doctors to become abortionists).

How sad that Huffpo has joined that proselytizing.  The article was originally published by The Women’s Media Center.  That is a media organization founded in 2005 by Jane Fonda, Robin Morgan, and Gloria Steinem.  Of course both Steinem and Fonda are major proponents of tax-payer funded abortion on demand at every stage of pregnancy.  So if Huffpo can’t help these filmmakers raise awareness, maybe one day they’ll get their wish for taxpayers to pay for late-term abortions.
