The more leftist a city was, the higher the score it received on Overall ‘People’ (whatever that means), though Savannah and Charleston did nab the #1 and #2 spots. The more leftist a city was, the higher the score it also received on the subcategories ‘Intelligent’ and ‘Athletic/Active.’ Salt Lake City, Savannah, and Charleston, however, made the top 10 for intelligent, and Salt Lake City and Miami made the top 10 for athletic/active.
Interestingly, there was no relationship between political affiliation and ‘Diverse,’ ‘Attractive,’ ‘Friendly,’ or ‘Stylish.’ New York and San Francisco scored high on ‘Diverse’—but so did New Orleans and Houston. The only leftist city to make the top 10 for attractive was Denver, but conservative cities predominated in the lower half of the list. Charleston, Nashville, and Salt Lake City made the top five for friendly cities, but Minneapolis, Portland, and Denver also scored highly. Finally, New York and San Francisco made the top five for stylish, but so did Charleston, Miami, and Savannah.
