After devastating election losses, big players within the Religious Left, including activist preacher and Democratic Party operative Jim Wallis, are  engaging in a public pity party and blame game. Who are they blaming? The Democratic Party and the White House! Ohhhh, the agony!

They tried a half-million dollar misinformation campaign. They even tried to send Marjorie Dannenfelser to jail for Susan B. Anthony List’s claim that Obamacare funds abortion. (Oof!) Now, with fifteen out of twenty ostensibly “pro-life” Democrats going down in defeat on November 2nd, the Religious Left is pointing the finger of blame squarely at the Democratic Party. No, not this Democratic Party, but rather this “Democratic Party“.

Religious Left operatives are accusing the party of throwing in the towel on efforts to win values voters, and criticizing the White House for failing to make “Hope and Change” happen.

Strider, who helped spearhead Democratic faith outreach in 2006 and 2008 – when he directed that work for Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign – said the party put substantially fewer resources and effort into faith-based strategy work this year than in any election since 2004.

Eric Sapp, who runs a faith-focused consulting firm with Strider, said he wasn’t hired by the House and Senate Democratic campaign committees or by candidate.

Could this be a trend?

The whining of Jim Wallis with complaints against the White House is particularly noteworthy.

Washington politics has been frozen solid, with no movement or motivation to try and solve the problems of the nation. Obama’s hoped-for politics of solutions has been replaced by that of scapegoats.

What do you expect from a leftist administration, Mr. Wallis? Integrity of some sort?

Meanwhile, the pro-life lobby is taking a much-deserved bow.

They can’t say we didn’t warn them; votes have consequences.

Indeed, the Religious Left has suffered a mighty and resounding defeat thanks to the efforts of those who simply wanted to get the truth out about who these candidates really are and what they stand for.

Do these results mean the Religious Left is down for the count? Hardly, but it’s crystal clear now that when voters understand the issues clearly, the results at the polls are good for the Right and bad for the Left.
