We have been warned about the potential hazards of cell phones. According to one recent study, funded by the World Health Organization, using a cell phone for as little as 30 minutes may increase your risk of getting a brain tumor. Nevertheless, scientists are not in total agreement on the true extent of the danger to our brains from cell phone use.
However, there is one politically progressive cell phone company that is using some of its revenues to emit political propaganda that is definitely a hazard to the health of our body politic.
The name of this cell phone company is CREDO. It has given over $65 million of its users’ money to progressive causes. Its 2010 list includes a who’s who of the top far Left groups, such as the ACLU, Code Pink, the Center for Constitutional Rights, Media Matters, the Ruckus Society and Amnesty International.
CREDO also has a progressive pedigree, including the Tides Foundation. Back in 1985, Tides’ chairman Drummond Pike and two colleagues started the Working Assets Funding Service, of which CREDO is an offshoot.
Now it is time to don your radiation shield for a dose of some CREDO propaganda. Its president Michael Kieschnick was so upset after the mid-term elections that he wrote an article appearing in the Huffington Post entitled “10 Steps to Take Now After a Brutal Election.”
Kieschnick, by the way, had played a key role in George Soros’ Secretary of State project, which sought to slip officials into positions in key states to take charge of vote-counting. Fortunately for us, this progressive attempt at setting the stage for vote-rigging failed on Tuesday.
Suffering the hang-over of defeat by the American people, Kieschnick first had to get some whining off his chest:
As someone who cares about progressive issues, there is no doubt that Tuesday’s results will make for even harder times for our country. It is crazy making to realize just how extreme and misinformed much of the new Congress will be.There is little reason to expect any useful legislation from the Tea Party-dominated House or the dysfunctional Senate. Swing votes in the Senate have really troublesome names: Lieberman, Nelson, Manchin, and Pryor. In fact, this Congress will do damage to anything even remotely progressive.
Then Kieschnick offered his snake oil poison solutions to make his followers feel better. Number one was:
Commit to Taking Down FOX News.
Here are a few others. Repeating all ten here would be too hazardous to my health.
Keep fighting to end the Bush tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans
Demand that the Department of Justice and the Internal Revenue Service investigate the political organizations set up by Karl Rove to launder millions of dollars in secret cash to change the outcome of elections.
Defend the EPA from castration by pro-coal interests in Congress.
Convince the Obama administration to stop appealing progressive court rulings on matters like the Defense of Marriage Act, Don’t Ask Don’t Tell, and the state secrets defense against torture and wiretapping.
At the end of his Huffington Post article, Kieschnick – the disciple of the Tides Foundation and George Soros – exhorted his own followers:
I suspect you are angry and exhausted at this point. I know I am. But let us not forget that the values and ideals we fight for are greater than any one election. They still endure, and so must our fight. We have a lot of work to do.
We have a lot of work to do too, Mr. Kieschnick, in helping to accomplish what the American people voted for last Tuesday: limited government, reduced spending, lower taxes and dismantling of government-controlled Obamacare. And we are not giving up our fight to make sure that you don’t succeed in foisting your progressive, anti-freedom agenda on the rest of us.
