Susan B. Anthony List [SBA] president, Marjorie Dannenfelser could be sent to jail if Democratic Catholic Congressman Steve Driehaus and the Catholic Left get their way.

What’s her crime? Leading a pro-life group which claims in billboards that Driehaus’ vote for ObamaCare is a vote for taxpayer-funded abortion.

Ironically, Dannenfelser and SBA share the position of the Catholic bishops that a vote for ObamaCare was a vote for taxpayer-funded abortion. As the battle over abortion funding in ObamaCare continues, it seems that, at least in Driehaus‘ state of Ohio, a pro-life woman could literally go to jail for disagreeing with the Catholic Left on abortion in ObamaCare. In Ohio now, we have a clear example of the Left throwing a woman under the bus in the name of championing women and the Catholic Left throwing Catholicism itself under the bus in the name of defending Catholicism.

The George Soros-backed fake Catholic group Catholics United [CU] has, for weeks, been engaged in a $500,000 misinformation campaign to persuade Catholics to vote for Driehaus and other Democrats who are ostensibly pro-life but voted for ObamaCare. CU, and various candidates they are struggling to defend, would like voters to believe that they are more “Catholic” on this issue than their own Catholic bishops who say that the new law includes taxpayer-funded abortion. Apparently, their half million dollars alone is not enough as Driehaus engages in what Dannenfelser calls “an act of desperation and fear” to “use a criminal statute to silence his critics.” Catholics who actually profess and practice their own religion point out the irony that Driehaus himself shared Dannenfelser’s position prior to March 19.

The biggest irony in Congressman Driehaus’s complaint against the SBA List is that he held the same opinion of the health care bill up until March 19, 2010. On that day, Driehaus suddenly dropped all his objections to the presence of abortion funding that led to his co-sponsoring the Stupak-Pitts Amendment of the House bill and the H. Con. Res. 254 which would have imposed the same restrictions on the Senate bill.
