You’ve probably read about Pamela Geller of late, or seen her on the news. Most recently, she received a long profile in The New York Times. She has a book out with Robert Spencer, “The Post-American Presidency: The Obama Administration’s War on America” and a very successful blog, Atlas Shrugs.

Geller has also been unfairly attacked by pro-appeasement elites and their media organs, from the Guardian, London (a terrorist-friendly newspaper) to the Atlantic’s Jeffrey Goldberg. It can’t always be easy.

Still, Geller who co-founded “Stop Islamization of America” and has come out against the so-called Park51 Islamic community center and mosque, isn’t a quitter. Recently, the sweet but always busy New Yorker kindly answered some of my questions.

NRB:If you wish for peace, prepare for war.” Is the anti-appeasement Latin adage right for today’s America?

Pamela: It is right for all civilized nations at all times. Plato said that the natural state of society was chaos. Peace is an interlude. We have to fight to defend and preserve what we have attained, or we will surely lose it.

Trade freedom for peace and you get neither.

NRB: Polls say that leftwing politicians are in serious trouble. Do you think America is getting the message?

Pamela: Clearly. . There is an increasingly large gap between the political elites and the common people. The American people will not go quietly. Freedom is in the very DNA of every American. No one can know how this battle will  be fought. There is no historical template for America or her citizens.

As long as we have free speech, we can effect change and achieve our goals peacefully.

NRB: Thanks again Pamela and take care. I’m just about to order a copy of your book.

Pamela: Excellent.

For what it’s worth, I think we are blessed to have people like Pamela Geller fighting for us.
