While it appeared the terrorists were summoned to stop the Jersey invasion, the real motivation was to get Osama Bin Laden close enough to put a bullet in his head. What does this say about the show’s creators? How many other shows can you think of that would blatantly kill off Bin Laden (more than once, I might add)? This episode shows, once again, that Parker and Stone detest parts of our culture than many do (i.e. the obsession with Jersey Shore), but still haven’t forgotten the importance of real issues such as defeating evil.

What is great about Parker and Stone is that they remain unafraid to lampoon anyone (even if it means acquiring a fatwa). If last week’s episode was made by leftist humorists, the show would have ended before Bin Laden was murdered, leaving the joke to be that Al-Qaeda helped save America (in hopes of provoking the so-called “warmongering” Right-wingers). South Park went the necessary step further to justify the partnership as a way to kill one of the most evil men in the world. The show proves that the battle against the world’s villains must transcend politics and always trump our cultural obsessions.
