The 250 young people chosen for the MTV town hall meeting on October 14 entitled “A Conversation with  President Obama” better not make their leader  “look bad.”

The eternal campaigner needs the reality-TV crowd to hit the polls on November 2, save the Democratic Party and restore his image around the world.  Can a bunch of 12-34-year olds “rock the vote” like they did for Clinton in 1992 after his MTV appearance and again for Barry in 2007?

Doubtful. The young are as frustrated and disillusioned as their parents.

In less than two years time, Obama has proved himself a third-rate thespian with no range, no imagination and completely incapable of carrying a scene with any emotion. And if this lack of acting skills isn’t bad enough, he blames the audience of idealistic followers for his shortcomings. They need to “buck up.”

No wonder angry comments appeared after an article on Entertainment Weekly‘s Popwatch in response to the opening question,”Have something you’ve been dying to ask Obama?”  Yes, they did:

What would it take to get you to resign and move back to Indonesia?

Absolutely nothing, he has nothing to say that I want to hear.

Why did you go back on your campaign promises?

Why didn’t you focus the first half of your term on job creation?

And about raising taxes on the rich, I want to know how many people out there have been employed by a poor person?

Seems throwing all of that blame around has not managed to divert attention from the One himself. Obama the star refused to take direction from his fellow cast members, the American people, and now the play is a shambles with everyone deserting him.

As a well-read, “brilliant” Harvard graduate Obama should peruse an essay by Ralph Waldo Emerson quoting St. Bernard on  playing the victim role:

Nothing can work damage to me but myself: the harm that I sustain I carry about with me and never am a real sufferer except by my own fault.

If  loyal union members, the black community and now MTV’s audience prove themselves bored and irritated enough not to show up on November 2 then Obama has no one to blame but himself.
