While the leftist media may have been all over the Pastor “Balloon Boy” Jones story, a serious attack on public officials by a fan of Che Guevara is going virtually unnoticed. After stabbing two people on Tuesday in Kansas City, including a college dean whose throat was slashed, evidence of Casey Brezik‘s collectivist views and esteem for Che Guevara are non-existent in news reports as I write. Could the disproportionate reporting be due to (gasp!) leftist media bias?

MSNBC reports that Brezik is a “student“. The Daily Mail mentions demonism and drug abuse. Greenville Dragnet refers to it as a “victimless crime” and claims Brezik is a “self-described anarchist.”

It’s easy to blame Casey Brezik’s left wing politics for this violence, but the truth is that these traveling “radicals” are a drug culture and Casey Brezik was a user.

In fact, a quick overview of Brezik’s Facebook page, which I found easily by doing a simple Facebook search for his name, shows that he is not just some pot-head college student. The picture at the top of this article was posted in Brezik’s profile with the Guevara quote: “A true revolutionary is guided by great feelings of AMOR!” Brezik also appears to be sympathetic to Fidel Castro saying in regard to the former leader of Cuba’s statement on war, “Is this not to be takin [sic] seriously?” According to his Facebook profile, Brezik created an “event” called “G20 Resistance” for protesters of the June 25 summit. Only one other Facebook user joined: “Kc Freeskool“, an anarcho-collectivist organization in Kansas City which is also the only group Brezik “liked” on Facebook.

Brezik is best described as an active anarcho-communist who had a fascination with Che Guevara and was concerned about world poverty, capitalism and the environment. He was so concerned, in fact, that he opted to act exactly as Che Guevara did — as an executioner.

Brezik has been discussing the possibility of using radical activity to bring about the change he was looking for. Only one of his 26 Facebook friends engaged him on the issue while the rest either didn’t see his comments or ignored them.

What might the leftist media have done if a Tea Party activist who honored conservative leaders on his Facebook page, decried “big government”, called for radical activism, and was ignored by his compatriots went out and slashed a public official’s throat. Any guesses?
