So who or what is this Imam Muhammad Musri? And why does he think he will get a free pass for his obvious and dramatic double cross?
If this Imam Musri isn’t yet under investigation by the FBI he should be. (I’ll stop shouting now.) If you want a pile of revolting detail, the inimitable Pamela Geller has it here, DiscoverTheNetworks has it here and JihadWatch has it here.
To summarize, Musri is among other things, a fundraiser for Hamas. He operates primarily in Orlando Florida. (Where do your grandparents live?). Big Peace writer Patrick Poole informs us that Musri hosted a Hamas fundraising event at his own mosque, featuring George Galloway and Mahdi Bray — both active and avid jihad supporters. The brave souls from Act for America, Bridgette Gabriel’s organization, penetrated the event and came home with the video embedded below:
Now, while we’re on the subject, if the reverend Imam is holding Hamas fundraisers at his mosque, what edition of the Religion of Peace do you figure the local Florida Muslims are getting?
Among his other accomplishments was to bamboozle the gullible and malleable Florida press, to the effect that there is no death penalty for apostacy in Islam. This was back when Rifqa Bary was struggling to escape an “honor” murder for apostacy, at the hands of her father. His point, having been that Rifqa should be returned to the tender mercies of her family, and her alarms and pleas ignored. Sweet natured guy, that Musri.
He handed the ignorant news people the characteristic evasion “There’s no such thing as honor killing in the Koran“, as if the Koran were the whole of Islam. We don’t have to look very far to discover that:
Sura II.217 is interpreted by no less an authority than al-Shafi’i(died 820 C.E.), the founder of one of the four orthodox schools of law of Sunni Islam to mean that the death penalty should be prescribed for apostates. Sura II.217 reads: “… But whoever of you recants and dies an unbeliever , his works shall come to nothing in this world and the next, and they are the companions of the fire for ever.” Al-Thalabi and al -Khazan concur. Al-Razi in his commentary on II:217 says the apostate should be killed.
And in the well respected Reliance of the Traveler (Umdat al-Salik) a guide to faith endorsed even by Al Azhar University:
Not subject to retaliation [is] a father or mother (or their fathers or mothers) for killing their offspring, or offspring’s offspring.
— Umdat al-Salik o1.1-2
Not that our J-School geniuses would have bothered to inform themselves of that.
Musri is also – supporters of Charlie Crist and grandchildren of Florida retirees will be comforted to know – serving on Crist’s Faith-Based and Community Advisory Council.
And finally, we shouldn’t leave our consideration of this individual without noting that his speeches are sold and distributed by the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA). The ISNA viewed favorably by the Muslim Brotherhood. That’s right Ingrid Matson’s ISNA. Obama’s Ingrid Matson.
Hmmm… Musri/Crist, Musri/Rauf, Rauf/Bloomberg, Musri/Matson, Matson/Obama, Obama/Rauf. …
For holymen these characters seem to be extraordinarily involved in politics. Makes you wonder to what degree is Islam a religion and to what degree it’s a political party.
And as to why he thinks that he is going to get a pass on fooling Pastor Jones, well he seems to be doing fine fooling everybody else so far. He’s not in jail for his Hamas support. So what has he to fear? Are our major legacy media companies going to do a big exposé? I think not.
