The Dark Knight (2008)
Batman is one of the greatest vigilantes there is. Bruce Wayne is the type of hero that the Left hates (A) because he has money and (B) because he takes a stand against evil that many politicians are afraid to oppose. After seeing what inept law enforcement leads to as a child, Wayne made it his life work to clean up Gotham City (obviously plot points from previous films). In The Dark Knight, he is forced to stand up against the Joker (brilliantly played by the late Heath Ledger), who is an archaic terrorist that has managed to get the best of local law enforcement. With numerous War on Terror overtones, The Dark Knight takes a clear stand against evil, and won over the mass audiences in the process. Can it get any better than that? It must make leftist Hollywood’s skin crawl to see the success of films like this (and Iron Man, etc).
