The Tea Party Movement vs. The Liberty Movement
The “Liberty Movement” is Ron Paul‘s anti-Fourteenth Amendment movement. The “Tea Party Movement” was a spontaneous uprising of the American people who were opposed to government overreaches by both parties, but particularly the Obama Administration. The “sleeping giant” which was the primary engine of the Tea Party movement were people who have not really been paying attention to politics over the years but became outraged and rose up. The Liberty Movement has effectively co-opted at least part of this movement on some level. Many in the “sleeping giant” have bought into the Liberty Movement‘s anti-Fourteenth Amendment, pro-Islam, anti-Israel arguments. The rest are either active but still unaware of what the Liberty Movement is about, struggle along against these views, or have simply gone back home to resume non-political lives, though they remain alert now.
Abraham Lincoln, where are you when we need you?
I would submit that strong statements from national conservative leaders on the Fourteenth Amendment are vital to our public discourse for the good of our country. Politicians need to stop the finagling and “coalition-building” on divisive issues for personal power at the expense of human dignity. Governor Mike Huckabee has recently gone on the record in support of the Fourteenth Amendment. There has been mostly silence from Sarah Palin on what her specific views on the Fourteenth Amendment are while Ron Paul has, in the past, called it “the imaginary Constitution“. We need strong leadership now on the Fourteenth Amendment or the fighting on these issues will continue into the 2012 election. In this age of creeping Sharia or “stealth Jihad”, it’s never been more important.
Are we going to be “One Nation Under God with Liberty and Justice for All”? Will the Republican Party return to its first principles? Or are we going to be working for the Confederates States of America with States choosing to allow or not allow Sharia, abortion, gay marriage, and “anchor babies”? The Fourteenth Amendment and the reason for the founding of the Republican Party must be the starting point in the national discussion.
There’s a power vacuum now on the Fourteenth Amendment as our conservative politicians finagle and maneuver. Who will bite the bullet and fill the vacuum? Who will lead us? Who will be our Abraham Lincoln?
