Louis Farrakhan’s rantings are well known. But the views of some of his co-signers of the Coalition of African American Muslims’ endorsement of the Ground Zero mosque complex are as bad or even worse. Here is a sample.
Abdul Malik: Democracy is not revelation, and democracy does not equal freedom, for in democracy you have apartheid, you have slavery, you have homosexuality, you have lesbianism, you have gambling, you have all of the vices that are against the spirit of truth; so no we don’t want to democratize Islam, we want to Islamize democra…cy! That’s what we want
Yahya Cason: [led the creation of a Muslim community in Maryland based solely on Islam and run by sharia law]
Muslim communities are ruled by Western societal tenets, many of which clash with Islamic norms
Siraj Wahhaj: And [Allah] declared ‘Whoever is at war with my friends, I declare war on them.’ … Your true friend is Allah, the messenger, and those who believe…. Hear what I’m telling you well. The Americans are not your friends … The Canadians are not your friends … The Europeans are not your friends. Your friend is Allah, the Messenger and those who believe. These people will never be satisfied with you until you follow their religion
If we were united and strong we’d elect our own emir [leader] and give allegiance to him…. [T]ake my word, if 6-8 million Muslims unite in America, the country will come to us
Nisa Islam Muhammad [from Ms. Nisa Islam Muhammad's interview of fugitive Assata Shakur , who was active in the Black Panther and Black Liberation movements, was convicted in the killing of a New Jersey state trooper and fled to Cuba]
Assata Shakur is a Black American folk hero. She is a freedom fighter that escaped the chains of oppression. She made it to the other side. She is a sister that defied the definitions of expected behavior by a Black woman…Who are the people on the tiny island nation of Cuba only 90 miles from Florida? Who are these people that dare to say
noto America? Who are these 11 million revolutionaries that resist in the face of the most powerful country in the world
The New York Times continues to express “dismay” over the opposition to the Ground Zero mega mosque complex project. Maybe it does not care about where the funding will be coming from or that its leader Imam Faisal Abdul Rauf has said that the United States was an accessory to the crimes of 9/11 or that the United States has more blood on its hands than al Qaeda.
And, of course, the Times is obviously not at all concerned that the project’s sponsors were so proud to receive the support of Louis Farrakhan and his pals that they posted the press release on the Cordoba Initiative web site. Will Hamas’ endorsement be posted next?
