Guess who Eric Holder says is more dangerous.

Eric Holder is one busy Attorney General.  He has filled his calendar with trying to figure out how to give 9-11 terrorists a trial in downtown New York and attempting to move GITMO detainees to American addresses.  Holder is so occupied that he had to dump a  cut and dry case of voter intimation by the New Black Panther Party.  With such a full schedule I wonder how he has found time to bring the force of the Obama administration and the US government down on a pro-life woman in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Last week Holder filed a lawsuit against Mary Susan Pine for allegedly blocking an entrance driveway to an abortion clinic in Florida.  Pine is a 58 year old who heads up a pro-life organization called Faith Action Counseling and Education for Life (F.A.C.E. Life).  The group offers counseling and education to women considering having an abortion.  Pine’s leadership includes prayer vigils, adoption promotion, and standing for life at abortion clinics.

Holder decided that Pine broke a 16 – year old law that has never been used against anyone in Florida. The lawsuit claims that Pine and another protester violated the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act.  Pine has been standing up for life in that area for two decades and has never faced anything like this.  In an interview with me and others she holds that she did not break any law.

“We pray, offer help and counsel women outside the abortuary – we save lives…I can tell you that I have come out to the abortuary for the past 20 years and am not in violation of the FACE ACT.” – Mary Susan Pine

The pro-choice community has decided to unify against Pine and other pro-lifers with one consistent argument.  They assert that people like Pine are on the pathway to being violent, anti-abortion extremists.  Pro-abortionists say Pine could very well be the next Scott Roeder, who killed the abortion doctor George Tiller in Kansas.  Therefore, the contention is that pro-life activism must be stopped to save lives.

“Sadly, the Scott Roeders of the world don’t start out as murderers.  They start out as vandals.” – Sharon Levin, vice president and general counsel of the National Abortion Federation.

Obviously Holder and the the Obama administration either agree with Levin or they just want to keep the support of the pro-choice community.  It’s probably both, and the administration may have decided to do a full force attack on pro-lifers.  Pine is being represented by the Liberty Counsel, and they feel strongly about the implications of this attack on Pine.  The counsel’s founder, Matthew Staver called the case “an abuse of power”.

“This lawsuit by Attorney General Eric Holder is politically motivated and patently frivolous. It is designed to intimidate pro-lifers.  We will not allow the Attorney General to push around little people and intimidate them for their pro-life beliefs.” – Staver

Staver is right on.  Holder seems to be politically motivated in everything he does.  His actions reveal that pro-lifers have good reason to be concerned.  The big question is, does Holder just want to scare the pro-life community with this Florida case, or is this only the beginning of many more lawsuits to come?

If Holder really wants justice he might want to pay attention to the God of justice’s view on what is truly evil.

16 There are six things the LORD hates, seven that are detestable to him: 17 haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, 18 a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, 19 a false witness who pours out lies and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers. Proverbs 6:16-17
