National Catholic Reporter Pays Homage to Backstabbing Nun

Though the Democrats’ massive, abortion-funding healthcare bill has now become law, the war of words it sparked continues to blaze in the Catholic Church here in America.

National Catholic Reporter (NCR) is clearly on board with the dissenters as editor Thomas C. Fox this weekend paid homage to Sister Marlene Weisenbeck. Sister Weisenbeck, the outgoing president of the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration (FSPA) in La Crosse, WI, is one of the backstabbing nuns who signed a letter credited with helping pass the legislation.

She is also president of the Leadership Conference of Women Religious whose “leadership” amounts to being one of the primary agents of dissent against Catholic teaching. Weisenbeck also recently signed a letter with other “religious leaders” calling out Sarah Palin and Newt Gingrich for opposing the building of a mosque at Ground Zero.

In March, prior to the vote on healthcare legislation, Bishop Robert Morlino of the Diocese of Madison, near the FSPA,  issued a statement to “untangle the confusion about the Church” in which he highlighted the disobedience of those nuns, including those of the Catholic Health Association, who sided with Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama on the bill.
