#2 Alexia Kelly, Director, Center for Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships

Like her co-author Chris Korzen of Catholics United, Alexia Kelley is prominently featured in RealCatholicTV’s documentary Obama’s Counterfeit Catholics. Kelley is now heading up the Center for Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships (FBCI)at HHS. Her superior there is excommunicated Catholic and HHS Director Kathleen Sebelius.
Previously, Kelley was Executive Director of Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good [CACG], notably known to be a Trojan Horse organization designed to win back Catholic votes in the wake of John Kerry’s defeat in the presidential campaign of 2004. Kelly came to CACG from the Catholic Campaign for Human Development and, before that, was involved with the Friends Committee on National Legislation which is supported by the Rockefeller Family Fund.
CACG’s stated purpose is to keep the media informed that “conservative Catholics” — that is, Faithful Catholics who vote based on the Five Non-Negotiables per the definitive teaching of the Catholic Church — are not the “definitive voice” of Catholics. Certainly, the Catholic Faithful have never claimed to be the definitive voice of Catholicism. It is precisely our fidelity to the Magisterium that makes us the “Catholic Faithful”.
One may ask how dissenting organizations seeking to replace the voice of the Magisterium could possibly be able to call themselves “Catholic”. Common sense assures one that if a bishop were to ask an organization not to use the name “Catholic” in their name, only groups which practice obedience to the Faith would comply. Since CACG is a dissenting organization, a request by a bishop to change the name would be an exercise in futility.
With Alexia Kelly as head of the FBCI, President Obama can continue to reap the benefits of social justice messaging that confuses Catholics in the electorate regarding their civic duty.
