You may remember my mentioning Feisal Abdul Rauf in an earlier post. Rauf is the Imam behind the infamous Ground Zero Mosque Lower Manhattan community center. I, like many people in this country, look on that project unfavorably. Rauf is playing himself up as a moderate, seeking to build bridges between Islam and American society as a whole. Of course, he also believes we should live under Sharia law, blames the US for Osama bin Laden and once hired a man who stated “only the Jews” could have been behind 9/11. He’s a funny kind of moderate.
But wait, it just got a whole lot better.
According to the Corruption Chronicles, Rauf is now being sent to several Muslim countries to promote peace and understanding:
