Major General Paul Vallely is a military analyst and has appeared on television and radio for over six years. He is also a guest lecturer on national security matters and the global war against Radical Islam. He co-authored the books Endgame – Blueprint for Victory for Winning the War on Terror, Baghdad Ablaze, and Warfooting. He is a member of the Advisory Council of the Iran Policy Committee. Currently, he is the Chairman of the “Stand Up America Project.” NewsRealBlog interviewed him to get his thoughts on the issues on immigration and Iran.

NewsRealBlog: There have been recent reports that Hezbellah has cells at the US-Mexico border. Do you agree with these reports?

Major General Paul Vallely: Yes and the cells are coming out of Mexico. We have obtained intelligence or have caught people crossing the border from over 16 countries. Lots should be done but the leadership in Washington is not aggressive enough so we are getting more vulnerable each day.

NRB: Do you have a solution?

Vallely: There should be a ‘no go zone,’ similar to a ‘no fly zone,’ that should be twenty kms from our border into Mexico. The Drones should be used for intelligence and special ops should be able to neutralize the area. Anyone that enters that zone should be arrested.
NRB: Playing devil’s advocate-aren’t we infringing on the sovereignty of Mexico?

Vallely: We are doing it in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. What is the difference? Mexico is not controlling the problem.

NRB: Speaking of not doing anything do you think our policy is enabling Iran to become a nuclear country?

Vallely: The US is not doing anything. Europe is not doing anything. So Iran goes on its merry road. Sanctions are not containment. The nuclear sites have to be neutralized.

NRB: How should we combat the threat?

Vallely: We need missile defense and good intelligence. Think of this scenario: A scud in a boat centered 50 miles from New York City. We can’t search all the containers and they will fly a different countries flag to be undetected.

NRB: I thought the Iranians don’t have a nuclear weapon?

Vallely: What they haven’t developed is the capability of having a war head to fire the nuke.

NRB: Are Russia and China helping the Iranians?

Vallely: Yes. Russia and China are working with Iran and North Korea. They have proxies to do their work so in that way they keep their hands clean. Remember anytime they could bring down the power capability of the US it raises their power. That is what the chest board is all about.

NRB: Why are you a member of the Advisory Council of the Iran Policy Committee?

Vallely: I work with the Iranian resistance movement. The best intelligence out of Iran is through the Green movement. I also am on the Iranian advisory committee out of Washington.

NRB: Are you planning to lecture anywhere in the near future?

Vallely: The week before Thanksgiving I will participate on Holland America’s “Spy Cruise.” I will talk about the major threats to the US. There are other speakers such as former CIA Director Michael Hayden. Everybody will have their own area that they will cover. People will be able to mingle and talk with us.
