CAIR and Mosque-ites, Just Don’t Get It

I live in Illinois, which is like living in a gulag for conservatives. A little over a year ago, I confronted CNN reporter, Susan Roesgen, for unfairly reporting the Chicago Tea Party protest. I continue to detest the corrupt media.

Last night on The O’Reilly Factor, the Executive Director of CAIR (Council of American Islamic Relations), Nihad Awad,  refused to acknowledge that Americans want respect, instead of a mosque near Ground Zero.  Awad could not bring himself to see the perspective of Americans, yet insisted that we must see their perspective. This is typical of so called “moderate” Muslim groups who are using the freedoms of America to advance their cause. They hide behind the US Constitution in order to force-feed us their intolerance. The fact that Awad would not acknowledge to O’Reilly that building the mosque is hurtful to most Americans proves their political motives, and lack of respect.

Newt Gingrich was also on the show to offer a counterpoint to CAIR’s perspective, saying that building the mosque near Ground Zero is purely a political move. Most Americans agree with this.  After all, there are mosques all over New York, and they are free to practice their religion. The opposition only wants them to acknowledge that building the mosque so close to Ground Zero is hurtful and disrespectful, and that it should be abandoned.  The fact that CAIR and the mosque developers refuse to acknowledge this proves that their plans are politically motivated. They have no interest in “building bridges,” as Awad insists.

It is a stretch for anyone to even accept CAIR as a “moderate” Muslim group interested in bringing Americans and Islam together. CAIR, an unindicted co-conspirator in the US vs. Holy Land Foundation case was linked by the Department of Justice to terrorist organizations, such as Hamas.  Why are we even listening to CAIR? It is telling that the Left gives a seat at the table to members of CAIR.  Would they give a seat at the table to members of the Westboro Baptist Church, the KKK, the Nazi’s?  They all have a right to exist, but must we allow them to spit in our face? It is insanity to follow the line of reasoning from the Left that we must show we are “better” than other countries. The rest of the world knows that our freedom is a hallmark of America. We don’t need to prove anything to anyone, and the insistence from people like Mayor Bloomberg and Andrew Cuomo that we must prove our tolerance is a twisted view coming from people who don’t believe it themselves.

The tactic that the Left uses to denigrate many Americans’ suspicion that radical Muslims are politically motivated by building this Mosque, and intent on inserting Sharia Law into American society, is the bogeyman technique. Rachel Maddow is an expert at doing this. Typically, she laughingly rubs her hands together while talking about the “Right Wing” fears of radical Muslims infiltrating America, as if it’s a foolish idea.  In this video, Maddow makes fun of people who worry that extremist Muslims are intent on bringing Sharia Law to America, as she questions how Elena Kagan, an “Orthodox Jew” could possibly be a sympathizer to extremist Muslims. Maddow laughs through her entire commentary with insipid arrogance and naivete that is completely out of touch with most Americans’ feelings.
