British Prime Minister David Cameron condemned Israel’s “prison camp ” blockade in Gaza in his visit to Turkey, also showing up his woeful ignorance by urging Turkey and Israel “not to give up” on their friendship. What friendship? Long before the flotilla incident–of which Cameron castigated Israel for– anti-Semitism and anti-Zionism was rife in Turkey as this article from the Wall Street Journal points out.

While Cameron babbled on in Ankara that the situation in Gaza must change, he exhibited brain fog over Turkey’s blatant human rights violations in Cyprus where napalm was actually used in its 1974 invasion, followed by an occupation, colonization and the forced ethnic cleansing of Greek Cypriots. Even though Turkey still has a blockade to keep out peaceful Greeks, Cameron is attacking Israel for its blockade to keep out Hamas terrorists; also forgetting the Egyptian blockade to do the same.

Cameron also met with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, a man who:

defended Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir, indicted by the International Criminal Court for killing half a million Sudanese Christians and non-Arab Muslims. In March 2010, he denied that Turks ever killed Armenian civilians. He labeled a U.S. congressional resolution on the Armenian deaths “a comedy, a parody.” He said that the Turkish military garrison stationed in Cyprus since 1974 is “not an occupier” but “[ensures] the peace.” On tens of thousands of Kurds killed by Turkish security forces from 1984 to 1999, he says nothing. – Wall Street Journal

In looking for friends and photo-ops, Cameron has wronged Israel, jumping on the bandwagon of Radical and Leftist propagandists. Al Arabiya television network recently conducted a survey in which 71% of Arabic respondents had no interest in Palestinian-Israeli peace talks, let alone the Palestinian cause, accept of course when it suited the Arab political cause. According to Efraim Karsh, a professor of Middle East and Mediterranean studies at King’s College London:

This history of Arab leaders manipulating the Palestinian cause for their own ends while ignoring the fate of the Palestinians goes on and on.

Now Hamas is stirring the pot by blasting the United Nations for being in “collaboration with the Israeli occupier” after the U.N. called for land delivery of aid coming into Gaza instead of by sea. Israel’s UN ambassador, Gabriela Shalev, wrote to UN chief Ban Ki-moon that her country “reserves its right under international law ” to prevent a Lebanese Flotilla from sailing to Gaza.

While British Prime Minister David Cameron was on tour enabling enemies of Western values, and condemning the only democracy in the Middle East (Israel), he needs to be spending more time paying attention to what’s happening in his own backyard: the Islamic radicalism sprouting in and out of his own country. According to this alarming report, “Britain’s New Export: Islamist Carnage” represents a direct security threat to the United States.
