Obama Kool-Aid Courtesy of America’s Catholic Bishops

Transformative learning goes beyond the mere acquisition of factual knowledge. It seeks to positively impact participants by empowering them with skills that develop their awareness and initiative and to also help them create meaningful learning in their lives. It involves questioning assumptions, beliefs, and values, as well as considering multiple viewpoints. Transformative learning inspires action for change by questioning and challenging what is valued.
This indoctrination process often sounds quite harmless on the surface, but the Catholic “social justice” movement is actually using ”Transformative Education” (indoctrination) in CCHD-funded community organizing programs to teach poor people that poverty exists because of an “injustice” against them which they must act to rectify. Further, current Catholic “social justice” activism rests soundly on the belief that poverty is not to be merely “alleviated”, but eliminated entirely through political activism.
As discussed previously at NRB, the leftist community organizers of the CCHD stand in direct opposition to the current TEA Party movement, as our bishops continue to bankroll them. Unlike the TEA Party movement, however, community organizers trained by the CCHD are taught to bypass our representative system of government and, instead, show up on the doorsteps of those deemed to be practicing “injustice” against them. Organizers demand immediate “justice” in the form of economic relief (and sometimes demand gay priests). In other words, they use a form of blackmail rather than legitimately petitioning their government as the TEA Party movement does.
The protest of People Improving Communities Through Organizing (PICO) against Bank of America in December of last year is just one of countless examples of the use of agitation to blackmail those with wealth. Meanwhile, the TEA Party movement, which is opposed to this older, yet fundamentally opposed, Catholic version of itself, responds by showing up on the steps of their State Capitol buildings or in the streets of Washington, D.C. That is, after all, how we are supposed to do things in America.
America’s Catholic bishops must open their eyes to what is really going on at CCHD and put an immediate end to it. Peace in America depends on it. Otherwise, if conservative change does not come about the proper way, through our representative form of government, the TEA Party movement could find itself on their doorstep. They’ve shown that they know the way to Washington, D.C.
